Slight depression/bore moving from working IN the business to ON the business

I'm curious if anyone else has gone through this.

When I worked IN the business - imagining how big it was going to get, doing the grunt work (programming/building the software) - I was much happier. In the last 6 months I've moved to managing my two employees, organizing their workflows, building growth systems, ensuring the book keeper is on track, dealing with gov, taxes, etc. I'm honestly so bored. Have any of you dealt with/disliked the transition of the initial growth stages when it was just you VS managing the business operations? How have you dealt with it?

This is very common: coming from a technical background spending most of your time doing something you know and enjoy towards doing things you are inexperienced with and don't particularly enjoy.

Once you are aware of it you can work yourself out of it and do what you do best - which, of course, is the best possible scenario.

Happens all the time - a star salesperson is promoted to managing up and coming salespeople. Management is tedious work and can suck the life out of a go-getter. Managers are easy to find - superstars are rare. Upper management, however, is usually too stupid to see that, so they end up promoting their best people out of what they do best, and ultimately losing them. And the cycle repeats.

Outsource the boring crap. An accountant can't sell or program, but they can do an excellent job of bean-counting for you - and so on. Get OUT of the corner you have painted yourself into and use your skills to do what you do best.

yes, it can be boring , and it happens among many jobs, I don't want to give any solution, but maybe determining the short plans helps, it means, for example , you plan for yourself that you will stay in the position just for 3 or 6 months, so the will inside you automatically tries to change the situation .
