Today I found myself in my own basement cleaning (again) to make everything look organized. I just moved into it about a month ago, to my own basement, as outlined in this thread : https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/community/threads/no-mortgage-payment-with-your-first-home.69389/
You can tell some of my friends look at me funny when I tell them I live in the basement of my own home, and when I suggest it to a few who could do it themselves it get's ignored.
Nevermind the fact that I pulled in over 2k in just the first month with very little effort on my part other than the moving part which is much more than their paycheck that cost them 80 hours of their life or more.
While this isn't rolling in millions it's a good supplement to my primary source of income and just a first step to continue building it up. With it's help and others, my income has increased almost 50% in the past 2 years. Sure I'll stay in my basement and you can stay upstairs. I'll work third shift or mow the lawn while everyone else says no way. Yea it sucks having people walk over my head, but I can also move out at anytime I want and still keep the real estate as an investment property, while I buy another one.
So while they look at me funny and say no way, I'm quietly building my freedom nest to one day look at them funny, wondering why they're still giving 40+ hours of their life to helping someone else get rich.
