- I go to the gym and do 30 minutes of cardio early in the morning to warm up the juices (don't worry, not the "creative" kind
). - I create a facts and benefits sheet and read over it a few times (this is usually done the night before, sometimes not to let my subconscious mull it over during my sleep).
- Drink a few cups of coffee. Sometimes take a nootropic, but not often. I find that when I use a nootropic I'm terrible at writing.
- Meditate for 10 minutes.
- Read a bit of a Gary Halbert sales letter to get into the mindset of writing copy.
- Listen to Nujabes or DJ Okawari, while trying everything possible to avoid sitting down and getting started.
- Force myself to start writing, and after about an hour I'm at my peak state. After that hour, that's when I really start to "glide" through the writing process.
What is the process you go through before writing? Whether it's writing in general or writing copy?
