It seems to me that in life, whatever the circumstance, it's the person/family/team that embraces this motto that wins out.

I actually have a play on our family name that expresses this: "What does our family mean? 'We can, Dad.'"

Accompanied by eye rolls but also teaching a lesson...

I can't quote it by heart but love the quote, nonetheless. This one is for all the armchair quarterbacks. I would think of this specific quote when I'd overhear someone talking shit about someone who lost a race or whose business had failed. At least that guy had the balls to get in the race. That woman had the courage to start that business.

I will always respect those who are willing to stand in the ring and keep their hands up for a few rounds.
