I prayed and tithed on something new. Somebody sent me money out of the blue to write a thing. I felt a weird absence of emotion, like a blank wall of nothing.

So I asked a random question about feelings on here. Guys said in their perfectly practical way "Suck it up buttercup" but they were kind about it.

So I wrote the thing and ignored my feelings even though I don't write for money, ever. And the client loved it and sent me extra money. The End!

Most people are mediocre, though. And nothing will ever change that. Your book can't change that. Your ideas can't change that. From the dawn of civilization, people willingly sold themselves into literal slavery in order to have a bite to eat, a roof over their head, and perceived safety for their children. It's true today. They see wealth, they say "that's not for me", and say "Well money can't buy happiness, look at these miserable people in first class on their Thinkpads with Excel open on one half of the screen and Slack open on the other"

This person is silly, though, but I'm guilty of it too. I now associate Teslas and Porsches with dreary office workers. I've always wanted a Tesla but now I don't think I do, because I see who drives them. But it's a fallacy that I need to be aware of. I can be free with a Tesla or a Porsche, but I can't be free by living the life those people do.

A lot of people associate "rich" life with 80 hour a week hustling, huge mortgages that will never be paid off, and constant "Keeping Up With The Joneses". But those people aren't rich, they've simply bought into the illusion of wealth. Soon the illusion becomes associated with the reality of these overleveraged people, and people say "I don't want that because I don't want to live like that". But they don't know of any other way.

Then they hear about entrepreneurship and they assume that it's also a 24/7 hustle. It can be, particularly at the beginning & during times of rapid change and growth, but all they see are those poor schmucks who work a "business-job", who are too cheap and untrusting to hire people, who brag about their work ethic but never about their results, and who play the same status games as those career people who are overleveraged.

They just don't know what they don't know.

And I know there are many more people on this forum who have given their time to up-and-comers as well.

Really wish you all would stop being such dreary, evil people and start living happy, healthy lives like all the other slowlaners. Geez!

I do... I "pulled an @MJ DeMarco ". I've been wanting a car for a while, so for my birthday last year, I bought one.

I knew interest rates were going up, and the dealer offered me 2.75%. I had the cash, but I took the loan.

Now my money is sitting at 4% and I will buy my next business faster this way. Plus I'm paying off that loan with devalued future bucks.

Did I mention I had delayed buying the car in the first place in order to buy a business? I call that "pulling a @biophase ". My business profit is making the payments on the loan.

Both MJ and Biophase detailed the strategies in threads, so when the time came in my life to execute, I had some pretty good wisdom to draw on. Thanks Fastlane Fam.

I have no auto debt, but did a few years ago due to low interest rates.

I applied the same low-rate/free money mentality and got a $1.8M mortgage at 2.25% which is now currently paid by the US government thanks to 3 month t-bills at 5.1%. What a world we live in...

2 days ago she told me she lied.

She said she didn’t want to hurt my feelings.

Than the following morning, she told me that she did like me, but it was MY fault.

She pretending to cry, pretending to still care about me.

Whoops, she forgot I’m friends with the guy she asked out.

I blocked her, and then what happens? She walks passed me and talks about other guys and how their so hot.

She then realized I legit don’t care, and now she’s pretending to be interested in me again.

If you can’t communicate your feelings you shouldn’t be dating.

Sorry for the mini rant, but first time attempting to date and it fails miserably.

Not letting that failure get to me. There are more things to be conquered, time can’t be wasting thinking “what-ifs”

Interesting to hear that they are profitable every year, most of these dtc brands, especially funded ones aren’t

I’ve always wondered about them in particular because it’s such a low ticket item and I see their ads everywhere

We have about 6 pairs of their earplugs in our house so maybe a high repeat customer rate due to having a good product makes the numbers work

If there is one thing I HATE...it is girls (and boys) who do not let their 'yes' be 'yes'...and 'no' be 'no'.
In other words, commitment. Even if it's as simple as keeping to a statement of trust & affection.

I think its a good thing she filtered herself out before you got sucked into years of heartbreak with the wrong partner.

Move on to better ladies. Now you are a bit wiser on what 'gold' to look for...

Something very similar happened to me when I was your age.

Let her go.

Girls like these you can't "win" unless you're literally the hottest or richest guy in the city or just both lol.

And even if you were somehow able to get her to be your gf, you'd have a terrible, garbage human being at your side.

Girls like that are only after attention and materialism.

From what I understand, it is really a matter of product.

Small, lightweight products with high margins (clothes, supplements, earplugs, makeup) make money because of high supply chain and marketing costs.

Big, heavy products with low margins (eg: Allbirds shoes) do not.
