It's ironic that I logged in this morning to update a thread on Building your personal brand from nothing, and found this thread all over my news feed.

Every interaction you have is building your personal brand - whether you like it or not, or whether you know it or not.

A lot of the responses in this thread are great.

A lot of them aren't.

What's also ironic is that I was loading the car with stuff to take to the tip (aka landfill), and checked my news feed quickly to see if there was anything I needed to do as a moderator before I stepped out for a while.

I was in a rush as I've also got work to do this morning for my business, but I spent 10 minutes scanning through this thread.

I feel I'm 10 minutes behind in my day, AND that I've been thrown off my day.

I teach bass lessons on the side. I dropped a student last week because he: Had an annoying personality, started hacking away whenever I started giving instruction, didn't listen to my advice, wanted to dick around instead of doing the things that would actually make him better, and would come to lessons having done nothing I asked.

Does that sound like any noobs we see here?

It's way too long, with not enough paragraphs. Nobody else who is in a hurry is going to read it. how is he providing more value than me?
