Did anyone else who purchased "How to Get Rich" have issues with the binding?
How to get rich... write a book, have it bound cheaply, and have buyers pay as if it were a quality product. No?

sorry, I don't have the book, but couldn't help it.

My first copy had pages cleanly falling out every 5 pages or so. I sent it back to Amazon, got a new copy and still had about 7 pages fall out throughout the book. Didn't bother sending it back again since the time involved in sending it back isn't worth just dealing with the problem but it was kind of a let-down to see a book from a world-renowned publisher fall to pieces in my hands...

I picked one up at Chapters and had the same issue. I just kept reading, wasn't worth my time to go back and get a new one.

The Vitamin D Solution ... very interesting read. If you have health ailments, it might be worth a look. It probably is the TMF of the health profession since the MD that wrote it is pretty much saying that unprotected sun exposure is actually good for you. Funny thing is, I believe him. Moving to PHX saved my life.

Right now I'm alternating between these two:

"Build the Perfect Bug Out Bag: Your 72-Hour Disaster Survival Kit" by Creek Stewart and Jacqueline Musser
"How to Get Rich: One of the World's Greatest Entrepreneurs Shares His Secrets" by Felix Dennis

So far, both are excellent.

So you want to get into the RE game? :)
Looks like you want to become a top-notch RE agent? I was thinking about the same path a year ago. I am curious what a great RE agent can make if he takes this kind of business 100% serious.

I am reading:
The Compound Effect, Business Model Generation and a german book on investing. All the books are pretty nice so far!

The 10X Rule - Grant Cardone

Halfway through and it's a great book so far. Mainly reinforces the idea that you need to work harder than the next person. You have to do 10X more than what others are not comfortable and not willing to do to succeed. Turn it into an obsession and you will succeed.

I know your post is a month old but I thought I'd chime. The top agents I think make ~ $5mil a year, and residential are the ones who make the most. Although there are commercial agents who make a lot as well. There was one agent (commercial) was got paid $7mil in about 5 years to switch back and forth between companies, not bad for just making a couple switches ($2mil for 1st switch, then $5 to go back).

But to theag, also check out A Master Guide to Income Property Brokerage : Boost Your Income By Selling Commercial and Income Properties, 4th Edition: John M. Peckham III: 9780471749158: Amazon.com: Books
I started reading it but haven't finished, it was recommended to me by someone I work with.

'The Few That Do' by our own Brian Mc Shane. I'm 38 pages in and so far so good. I wanted his book to be my first read of 2013.

I ended 2012 with a re-read of MJ's book -- amazing how much you comprehend when you re-visit a good book after experiencing life a bit -- and Arnold Schwarzenegger's autobiography which was also a fantastic read.

My first read for 2013:

Sam Carpenter's Work The System.

Interesting methodology of how he makes things work in his life and career. Might apply this to myself.

The Bhagavad Gita!

"They who enjoy the nectar of immortality left over from the sacrifice attain to the eternal Brahman; this world is not for him who doeth not sacrifice, how then any other world?"

- Chapter 4 verse 31

one of my favourite religious scriptures, solely for the reason that it teaches us not to work for the fruits of labor, but to work for the joy of work!

some other quotes in the book:

“Delusion arises from anger. The mind is bewildered by delusion. Reasoning is destroyed when the mind is bewildered. One falls down when reasoning is destroyed.”

“The wise sees knowledge and action as one; they see truly”

“The mind acts like an enemy for those who do not control it.”

“Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.”

“The wise should not unsettle the mind of the ignorant who is attached to the fruits of work.”
