I kinda blog. More like post content somewhere whenever I've written something. I'm not sure that classes as blogging.

My key takeaway from this article is that if I DID want to leverage my blogged content, then I should spend the same amount of time promoting it as writing it. Bit of a wake up call, and I'm now suddenly keen to see what effect that would have. As in genuinely interested in what that might result in.

Another takeaway is to, err, make it easy for people to sign-up if that's what you want them to do. Seems obvious, but it's so common to forget what your goals are sometimes.

What's your biggest takeaway from the article?

I wrote about 15 blog posts in 2013. I haven't touched it since, just put it in front of the right people. That got me some good SEO rankings, and people share my writing (because it's good).

It makes a steady $500-$1000/month. Not too bad.

I used to think I needed to have a "magazine blog" that released a post every week. I see now that that approach is completely unnecessary.
