Hey everyone,
I'm about to make a significant financial decision and would love some outside perspective.
My situation:
I have €8,000 total budget to start an Amazon FBA business. I booked a call for a coaching program for €6,500–7,900. Payment is flexible.
What impressed me during the sales call:
- He showed actual student products with real profit margins and revenue numbers
- Demonstrated product validation
- They use AI for product photography to reduce costs
- They have a "control room" dashboard where you can track shipping, inventory, and sales in real time
- He mentioned they launched their own car jack product first (proving they practice what they preach)
- Solid knowledge on Product protection: explained patents, utility models and design protection with actual cost differences
- Good answer on quality control in China – mentioned on-site inspectors, gave a concrete container example
- Doesnt sell quick rich easy, he says 12months than you can cashout from business, but before reinvest money in inventory
- Sensible seasonal product strategy for beginners with limited capital
- Using value skew for own product doesnt want to produce crap
- Community, 150h video course, partner network, and 1:1 support included, Community gives you rating on amazon for your product.
- Showed discord with active members. Going with community to china canton fair
What raised red flags for me:
1. Corporate structure concerns
I looked him up on the German commercial register (Handelsregister). Here's what I found:
- He co-founded an UG in Jan 2023 with €3 capital
- He was only registered as Managing Director for ~5 months
- In Oct 2024, he officially left the company (now renamed to a GmbH)
- The company's stated purpose changed FROM "digital coaching services" TO electronics/tools trading after he left
- He currently has NO registered company that I can find
2. Misleading claims about company ownership
During the call, he showed the GmbH as proof of his business and said "you can see exactly what % stake I have, that's transparency." But according to the commercial register, he hasn't been a director there since October 2024. Multiple independent sources (Northdata, Openregister, Companyhouse) confirm this.
He also referenced a bigger company (a legitimate, established fitness equipment company) as a success story. But that company belongs to his former co-founder, not to him. And it seems that he left the team 2 years ago.
My questions:
1. How much weight should I give the company structure issues? Could there be a legitimate explanation I'm missing?
2. For those who've done Amazon FBA – is a coach even necessary at this budget level, or are there better ways to learn?
3. Has anyone here had experience with an Amazon FBA coach and how was it?
Thanks in advance. Happy to share more details if needed.
