Today is a year since my store opened. We are niche B&M retail and e-com. I decided not to do a progress thread because I didn't want to get distracted. I figured I would update the forum when (and if) we survived one year.
The numbers:
$35k invested. Since August 1, 2023, $87k sales yielded $29k gross profit before expenses. Monthly expenses are below $2k. We have over $30k in inventory as well as our equipment and fixtures. Over 5k followers on IG (mostly organic, very low boost spend). A few dollars a month is the highest our Google PPC costs have been (thank you for your knowledge and tips @Andy Black ). Most of our Google traffic is organic. Go check out Andy's content to learn about Google ads as well as marketing and networking in general.
Initial startup costs and monthly expenses used up most of the profit but we have paid ourselves a little bit. Feels like a win to have made anything in the first year.
