This is to bring awareness of everyday dangers we face when we leave the house to the average citizen.

Your location seems to be CA. How dangerous is it? I mean what are the statistical odds for an average resident of CA in any given day of being physically attacked?

I hear your comment of “fighting violence with violence” but disagree based on everything I’ve ever been taught by my coach years back. Diffuse situation is the goal.

My thinking …

When tempted to fight fire with fire, always remember… The fire department usually uses water.

PS. Let me know if you want me to exit the thread, as I’m clearly not your customer and I don’t want to derail your plans. But if you want to hear “the other side of the coin” argument, I can stick around. Your call.

100% agree! Avoid violence at all cost. Which I do. But... When you have exhausted all avenues to defuse the situation and the threat is still present and becomes violent... then you respond with another level of violence.

And I definitely would not ask you to leave the thread.

I love all opinions... whether for or against.

You are being respectful and intelligent with your response so I have no problem with it. Keep it coming!

Yes, I am in CA in South Orange County. And I do not know the stats of attacks in or around my area.

But if I was only training and acquiring skills to be Hard to Kill according to my location then I would never leave my little bubble, however nice it is.

I spend a lot of time in Cabo, take my family off the grid on surf adventures and go off the beaten paths in a lot of areas. I do not travel to only low crime areas. I am prepared for the worst and hope I never encounter or have to use what I have been trained for.

Well that explains a lot! This is your target audience - people just like you. People who travel to foreign and less safe destinations. $50 / mo to keep sharp and have the right peer group is cheap. $50 / mo for a city dweller Californian riding bikes across Golden Gate "weekend warrior" style... is a waste.

Also why I had a hard time understanding your proposition. My fam and I define "camping" as the nicest available hotel in a large city! Haha. I love my outdoors, but already live right next to it (literally walk out of my house and I can hit forest trails within 10 minutes). Short of stubbing a tow or twisting an ankle, it's safe.

But I was the type to travel to dangerous areas and with my family, I'd want to lean into self-defence, guns etc. Threaten my family and you awaken a monster. Which is probably why I am not willing to travel like that in the first place.

Don’t get me wrong, I love me some turn down service. But I am prepared everywhere we go.

Threaten my family and you awaken a monster
Not to be a smart a$$ but what is the “monster”?
A lot of people say that once they “see red” their attacker will regret it.
But unless you have been put into uncomfortable/stressful situations in a controlled environment how do you really know.
I’ve never been carjacked but we run scenarios to prepare for it. I’ve never been in a home invasion situation…but I prepare for it.
My point being that we all think we live in a “safe” environment and that nothing bad will ever happen.
But criminals are getting more brazen everyday.

I grew up in a dangerous place after the collapse of USSR.

What I learned from that experience is that I get calmer the more stressful the situation gets. I don’t “see red”, just the opposite. This character trait serves me well in business too.

Interpret it as you wish. ;)

I interpret it as you being a kick a$$ Savage my friend!!!

And you are a perfect example of what I tell people.

It’s better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war! (Stolen quote from I can’t remember)

@BizyDad did you at any point on this forum mention that you were boxers, and if you didn't, why do I think you were/are?
I have no idea.

In adulthood, I have talked my way out of every physical confrontation I've faced. I turn bullies into best friends. And when you're surrounded by bullies, people don't tend to mess with you. This character trait serves me well in business too.

The only fist fights I ever had were backyard sparring matches with friends where I enjoyed getting hit just to know what it felt like. I learned I can take some hits, I don't enjoy dishing them out, and I have an irrational affinity for head butting. Those times are behind me, safe to say I'm not a good target for this mastermind.

Although, the way the world is going, I might be interested in a good ole fashioned gun club and survivalists mastermind.

Good luck in your endeavour @Surf16

Been awhile since I've been on here but here is a quick update:
1. The membership is up and running. Didn't meet my goal of 500 yet but plugging away.
2. Currently have a Membership site, FB Private group for members only and adding value content weekly to the site.
3. Have had numerous guest on my zoom calls to educate and and value to the members
4. Webinar this week to walk people through the value of being a member and promote
5. Was promoting a LIVE event for Nov. but met with the instructors over the weekend and thought it would be better to re-schedule until 1st quarter 2023
6. Focusing on adding value
7. Building my social presence with daily content
