Hi. Here's my progress thread.
I had a heart attack two days ago so I'm writing this from hospital. It's kind of focussed my mind on what I want from life.

My background: 58, yeah I'm no spring chicken but better late than never. Married. Kids (girl 11, lad 14). Modest slowlane success (career I worked hard for, house paid off, reasonable superannuation). No business background or understanding.

What I want: a new journey into building and running my own business. If it can be fastlaned, great, if not, well the journey itself will be a payoff.

Issue: I've been slowlane all the way so far, so this is a teaching an old dog new tricks situation. I'm used to following an existing structure and have no clue about marketing, sales or business in general. Given the required delta I need to make in my skillset and behaviour, I'm going to start with an existing structured program (i.e. find a course) to get some initial clue about business. Whether that business ends up being something meaningful doesn't really matter - it'll just be a start to learn some skills that I could then apply to something else.

Goal for today: find a course for developing a 'training wheel' business. Something with low barriers of entry (money, skill) and structured training. I'm sure I'll be wading through lot's of 'guru' offerings :-)

This progress thread: this journey isn't the only priority in my life so I won't be going hell-for-leather on it, but consistency, even slow consistency, is my pledge to myself. And I'll be enjoying the ride.
