Wow. I’m super humbled. Thanks everyone.

I was going to reply earlier but had a couple of drinks with my wife in the garden watching the kids bounce around on space hoppers.


As to what @Kak said about me being a glass is half full guy (which I appreciate):

I remember a works lunch many years ago where I was chattering away at one end of the table. I looked up and see one of the senior managers watching me.

“You live in a sunny little world Andy”, he said.

“Oh. Doesn’t everyone?” I thought.

Anyway. I’m not even a glass is half full kind of guy. I’m a “Oh wow, I’ve got a glass!” kind of guy. There doesn’t even need to be anything in the glass.

(Don’t get me wrong. It infuriates my wife no end that I see a silver lining in everything and the good in everyone.)

I do believe it’s a learned skill though. I read “The Power Of Positive Thinking For Young People” when I was about 13 and I think it’s been instrumental (as well as having a military dad who jumped all over us if we said we were bored or complained about anything).


As for what @Vigilante said about “Everyone likes Andy. Be like Andy.”

Firstly, thanks. That made me chuckle.

Secondly, it’s simple in the forum to get your point across without antagonising people:

> Have manners.
> Don’t be a d*ck.
> Let them have the last word.

I remember that we can be quite a heated, overly-passionate bunch here haha.

Grey is a sign of wisdom, you can't put an old head on young shoulders.
Example:
Father & son bull on a hill overlooking a field full of cows.
Son says "dad, let's run down & pleasure a cow each."
Father says "no son, let's walk down & pleasure them all."

Hey @Andy Black,

I know your birthday is already over some time but I like to take the time to just thank you for your contributions to this forum. I always took a lot from your posts and your constant reminder that we should just provide value really stuck with me. Now when I'm talking with my friends about my project one of their first questions is "how do you gonna make money with this?". In the past this question would have made me doubt my idea but now I know that when I focus on creating value and help enough people there will be possibilities to make money.
