Are you stuck on dial-up or something? :p

Honestly though, I've found books are much better for learning to program..

What books would you suggest?

Sorry to follow up a question with questions, but it changes the answer.

Are you looking to be able to create maintainable large programs, or to learn enough to create an already envisioned end?

Also do you want to create native applications, or web apps?

Uh... I'm not at the point where I know the answer to that question. I'd like to understand what's going on when I hire a programmer to build a website similar to ebay or flippa.
