Hello everyone!
I'm not really new in this forum as I already registered a year ago when I read Millonaire Fastlane. But now I am almost finishing Unscripted book and I thought about checking again the Fastlane Forum.
So I introduce myself, my name is Martí, I'm from Spain, 21 yo. and studying a Marketing degree.
When I was 14/15 yo I became very interested in money and started reading Fincance and Personal Development books (typical ones as Think and Grow Rich, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Lean Startup, Millonaire fastlane...). I then tried to start some hustles like ecom, dropshipping, and failed always because of not being consistent and disciplined thanks to the typical believe that a lot of teenagers have because of the Social Media "Gurus" saying that you can be a millonaire in 1 month doing absolutely nothing.
Then I started university, a private one paid all by my parents (good thing because I don't get in debt). And as many people in this forum, I hate it. I'm tired of being 4/5 hours a day learning not very useful things, at least they're not as useful as brilliant books I can read for a few bucks like all the ones of MJ DeMarco or free YouTube videos from incredible business owners like Alex Hormozi or Gary Vee.
Well, I always had a comfortable life, relatively big house, 2-3 trips with family per year etc. Unexpectedly, some years ago checking the bank statement of my parents in my dads laptop, I found that they had a few millons there. I was impacted because I knew we had a good life, but I still couldn't believe it, as I thought that all millonaires always spent a lot of money in sports cars, super-luxurious vacations, expensive clothes etc. In the case of my parents, they lived a good life but incredible below of their possibilities, they have a little business and they give generous amount of money to their bank advisors that then invests their money for them.
Well, the case is that even having that net worth, they have the same beliefs as most parents: go to university, find a good job and if you want to be an entrepreneur: "ok, but is very risky and there are a lot of people that fail and go bankrupt".
My university degree has an option to do 1 more year and have another "extra" diploma. When I finish this year university I can have my first Marketing title, but they want me to do the next year "so that I have more possibilities of getting a better job, and also to have a diploma in case of failing entrepreneurship".
Today I just told them that I don't want to do this extra title because I find it useless and the university is literally shit. They got angry and told me that if I want to be an entrepreneur, that I can, but i must 100% finish the second diploma. I already told them that I won't do it. I don't want having my time destroyed in a useless way going to university.
My idea is using the knowledge I acquired reading lots of books, watching videos and courses, and my "autodidacticism" character to do a Marketing Agency and scale it. I also have the contact of a close person that is owner of a mk agency of more than 15 employees, he might help me with some advice when I need it.
Although my parents have good money, I don't wanna use any of it. For me it's like it isn't fun to live life with that advantage, I would like to build my character and person only thanks to me and my hard work. I would hate the idea that someone told me in the future that I'm that wealthy and that I can only live this type of life thanks to my parents.
In the future I would like to live in a entrepreneurial city like Dubai, have free time, not be dependent of anyone (especially from my parents or a company) and find a good purpose in life helping others and building a better world. Also being a great dad!
I'm also working a job and I have now saved more than 7.000€ during all my life (I have always been very cautious with money not spending it in stupid things as most teenagers do, and I also invest it). My goal is to get to 10.000€ so I can start the company with more "tranquility", even though I live with my parents and have no expenses, but as I explained, I want to stop being dependent on them as quick as possible.
Thank you if you read until here!
And MJ, if you are reading this: thank you for sharing your amazing knowledge in your books and especially for doing it from all your heart. When I read them I can feel how you put all your efforts and passion to write the best possible books to help people achieving their dreams!
