Why won't they pay for this?

I started a job newsletter service as I've mentioned in my previous posts which provides jobs to the unemployed ones who are wasting their time finding jobs here and there but not finding one. And I've mentioned before how it's better than LinkedIn.

At first I wasn't properly marketing it. Then I thought where would unemployed people mostly hang out?
Well LinkedIn.
So I opened an account there and one thing I saw was people gave their number in the chat box who were looking for a job. I called them and politely told about the service, how it's better etc. It all seemed good every single soul was interested in the service and agreed to subscribe and post feedback was pretty satisfying. Then I decided now it's time to make it paid. I fixed a price of 1 dollar (70 rupees in Indian currency). But the problem is now when I call them they actually do seem interested but they don't wanna pay. Is it in my head or anyone would rather spend hours searching for jobs themselves rather than spending a bill and let us do it for them.

Pardon me I accidentally posted it in the ideas section.

You're looking at it from the wrong perspective. Do you really expect people looking for a job to be able to afford anything other than bare essentials?

Is it in my head or anyone would rather spend hours searching for jobs themselves rather than spending a bill and let us do it for them.

As above. They have time. They don't have money.

You don't make money charging the unemployed. You make money charging the companies that need to hire.

Make it commission based? They get the job, you get paid. THAT is when they have money.
Provide other services too, interview prep, connections to clothing / haircut / appearance. Live coaching. etc.

Agree, you are looking at this from YOUR perspective. YOU are not the customer.

Won't there be a slight problem.
We are only showing them the vacancies of the companies providing jobs with respect to their domain but getting the job actually depends on their qualification. If a 12th fail, who has language issues lad comes to me and says get me a job it's either gonna take months and years or not gonna happen. Basically, Things are no longer in my hand. I am out of control of my own income.

If you provide no additional concrete 'in my hands so i can see it directly' value over a free service, why would anyone pay?

It is a numbers game. Charge enough once placed at the correct conversion percentage and profit.
Right now, you are like all the free services .... except you are less known and you are not free

You want to make sure that your potential customers have the purchasing power to pay you.

You wouldn't want to sell ROLEX watches to the homeless living on the street. Why? Would they want the watch? Yes! Most of them will want one so they can sell it to survive. But they don't have the purchasing power or the money to actually pay for your watch, so you'd be wasting a lot of time targeting them and wondering why no one's buying from you.

Just because one target group can't afford your product doesn't mean that it's bad. Sometimes you just got to switch target groups.

I made that mistake in my first year which caused me a lot of headache. You want to make sure your target group can afford your product. A lot of people will act interested, waste your time and tell you how would it be great to buy this and blah blah blah but until they pay you or give you an actual check for your work, it doesn't mean anything. Just like what MJ DeMarco said in his last book; when people are paying you they are voting for you.

Maybe you could target some wealthier families around your area? I don't know if India is a particularly rich country though.

That is a fair point actually, targeting the ones capable but doesn't it reduce the market size?? In terms of Nominal GDP India is Top 5 in the richest countries but in context to per capita income we have a lot of catch up to do.

When you sell to C, there are only few things that people are willing to pay for.

Not wanting to pay and expecting things for free is the norm not the exception.

This isn't limited to the jobless people with low purchasing power.
