Especially when my bedroom is at the same time my workspace I wake up often times with a head full of work. Sometimes I dream about work. Just to wake up and the first thing in my mind is "What kind of work do I have to do now".

But the biggest problem for me right now is that on my free days (4 days a week) from regular work I'm most of the time working alone and I can hear the walls talking to me. If you know what I mean.

I had this working environment years before while I was doing some freelance work and after a short period of time I couldn't open my laptop anymore because it made me too exhausted and stressed.

This time I try to avoid this environment and I need some advices how to make my workspace at home more "healthy" for the own psychology and more productive.

It's all about environment.

Get some Entrepreneur posters, vision board to condition your mind and body, not just sitting
listening to podcasts etc etc.

Demarco talks about these in his books!
The Unscripted Book: Chapter 41: Make Execution Matter: 13 Best Practices
The TMFL: Fastlane 27: Change that Dirty Stale Oil

If your environment is not aligned the way you desire, you are less likely to get what you want for yourself

I personally make my workplace a place that I want to be and that makes me feel energized.

Bright lighting, big open desk space, and dual monitors because they make me feel more productive.

I also have one of those alexa things on my desk because I like to play some instrumental music to set the mood to focus when I'm not feelin it.

People also use things like incense and candles to signal to themselves that it's time to work.

I really like to push for things to feel alive, vibrant, and creative.

None of this really focuses in on what you feel the exact problem is. "more healthy and productive" is fine but where are we starting from? What are your major hangups?

For example:
  • Ability to start work
  • Maintaining focus
  • Constant external interruptions
  • Lack of motivation
  • Inability to follow through
  • Frustration at lack of progress
If it's just general stuff then redecorate the room and chose a light colour palette more suited to a working environment.

Get a better desk and ergonomic chair. Move the furniture so that your work space is set up on the other side of the room.

Open the windows, improve/increase the lighting. Find large leafed plants that will survive living in your room and will provide added oxygen and soak up some CO2.

Remove temptations from your Laptop/PC like games and social media. At worst, create a secondary log in and put all access to them there.

Use a pomodoro, play focus tracks, wear noise cancelling headphones.

Get up and go to bed at the same time each night. Create a morning routine conducive to a strong work ethic.

Go for a walk around the block before you start working (make that your daily commute). Wear clothes appropriate for working rather than playing games.

Create a vision board full of the things you want and create a defined path to get you to each one.

Go to the gym and get fitter as that helps with focus. Eat healthily, cut down/out alcohol. Move to intermittent fasting (either 16/8 or OMAD).

Take proper regular breaks and use that time to walk or do stretching exercises.

Revisit your 'why' and see if you can hone in on it and make it stronger so as to create more motivation.

Learn to meditate and keep a journal.

There a loads of ways to improve physical/mental health and productivity. Implement some of the above you feel would make the strongest impact on the issues you are currently facing. do them for 10 to 14 days and let us know if they have helped and what tweaks you have made.

I will definitely take a look on this chapter. Thanks ✌

Bright lighting, big open desk space, and dual monitors because they make me feel more productive.

Is there a special light you use? Like special color?

None of this really focuses in on what you feel the exact problem is. "more healthy and productive" is fine but where are we starting from? What are your major hangups?

For example:

Luckily it is not about motivation, frustration or distraction. I focus on the progress and this way of thinking makes me see the positive things.

But I'm more worrying not being able to do the work I have to do. I have read some articles about people who get depressed from their time of working from home and I just try to avoid this experience. But I will definitely follow your advices below and see how it works for me.
