Hello all!

I'm at an important point of my life. I'm about to turn 24 in a few months and I'm not happy with my life. My main problem is don't know what I truly love or what I'm passionate about, this really bothers me in making my own company/business.

Currently I'm in a 40-hour week job which I don't enjoy. My boss/manager is a complete **** and the only thing he cares about is money. He will betray one of his own workers to gain self benefits.

Now I want to leave this job but it will leave me with nothing, no income etc.
And the thing I don't know what I truly love I really don't know what to do at this moment.

It feels like I'm at a point which can be very important, in a good and in a bad way.

How do I react in this situation and how to move on?

Why do you have to leave your current job to start something new? There are so many steps you can take while you are still working. Every week you have 168 hours. You are only working for 40 of them. That's less than 1/4 of those hours you have available. What can you do with your current job skills? Can you make a plan where you keep your present income going -- which gives you time to replace it with new income streams? Being broke sucks and it can make you unable to think or function. Why would you want to create that type of situation?

I agree with this.

What is the point of financial independence? According to Wikipedia: Financial independence is a state in which an individual or household has sufficient wealth to live on without having to depend on income from some form of employment.

How does one get to financial independence? Work at your current job or find another one. Work on a side hustle/business. Overtime you should be making more money from that than your current job of emplyment. Then you can quit your job.

Now, in terms of finding passion. You have to constantly try new things. Go try something new and commit to it for a while. Be it basketball or writing or whatever. After a while, you can say "I like it or I don't like it"

Mainly because I'm feeling put aside by my boss. He really can't work with other people. The only thing he cares about is himself. He bothers me texting me on my phone, trying to get information from me via other people etc. It's making me feel uncomfortable.

The positive side is I'm still living with my parents so I don't have big bills to pay (I pay around $200 a month for all).
So I can be 'jobless' for a few months without being broke.

Because my working environment is such a negative spot I'm really tired and feeling down when I get home. That's also one of my main reasons to get something going for myself, my rules. And to do better what others on my current job don't do or be a better person in general.

Please see my reaction to someone else in this topic as well, provides the same information on your reply.
I've been trying multiple new things, which is a good thing to do!

My current thinking process is to have my own business and give people/companies value, not sure what type of niche I should do that in...

One thing that stood out to me when reading TFM is that you shouldn’t worry about starting a business around your passion because your passion may not lead to a viable business. Find a need and create a business to satisfy need.

Your boss is sure a powerful force in your life! I don't know if you should thank him for helping you become tougher, or shun him by quitting your job. Starting a business can take a lot of time and money. Will a few months give you enough of a window? Are you daily thanking your parents? I'm not sure I would as giving as they are with you, with any of my four grown kids...

All my jobs I had, my boss was a complete ****. So as far as I know today I kind of know to deal with these kind of people. But this one is even worse then the worst one I had. It's getting in to my mind.

Business can definitely take time, money wise it's not required (according stories on this forum).

And the relation between me and my parents is good, they will support me in what choice I make.
But they will also advise me in what to do if things are not working out for me. So that's a nice thing to remember for myself.

Passion. Not necessarily that thing that will propel you forward for a fastlane. Right place. Start. Please read. "Unscripted ". Possibly do what you CANNOT stand. Like a millionaire who works his end of the septic pumping service industry. I have one friend who is this person at a local facility. Business is booming. The market for endless opportunities is out there. Get a tap on the marketmind. Work is good while your getting your business going. Jobs you can learn something along the way. Sometimes they can be rough and sometimes they cut you some gold splinters.

Thank you for your reply. I ordered both books recommended on this forum. I just watched summary of both books on YouTube explaining the most important parts out of the books. I just learnt it's not about doing what you love, it's about offering value and problem solving whatever niche that may be. Which in a logical way makes a lot of sense.

Since I've just learnt this, what is a good way to find these problems and needs? How do I get to know what people really need? Just email/call companies and ask what kind of problems they're facing?

Man, seriously @LarsJelle,

first of all: welcome. But - you joined, have not read the books, have not read any gold thread in here and are asking for a shortcut to sort your stuff out. It's simply not working that way.

It's not quitting your job to get rid of your sh*tty boss, beeing at home for a few months while starting a successful business from there. If you're that lost, this is not going to work out for you. No one here's is going to take you by the hand and guide you in doing so.

My suggestion: endure this tough time, read the books, read gold threads in here, get into the mindset of all of this and suddenly opportunities will become visible to you.

Here are some thread suggestions for you while you wait for the books.

GOLD! - The "Astonishing Secrets" Thread

GOLD! - Making Money For Dummies (And In a Crowded Market)

GOLD! - Where I have been this time... and why I'm famous at Wells Fargo

GOLD! - Ask me anything about eCommerce (Ongoing)

GOLD! - I will help you find a product to sell on Amazon

GOLD! - So you want to know the EXACT steps on how to import and sell products on Amazon? Here you go:

GOLD! - Sharing my lifetime experience in export/import. Product sourcing specialist.

NOTABLE! - You’re not selling wholesale?

GOLD! - How to Learn Code, Start a Web Company, $15k+ per month within 9 months

Not Fulfilled? Depressed? Maybe You Need An Alignment

You're sitting on a pile of gold looking in the sky for help. Yes, it will require time and work. It all depends on how much you want it. If you're looking for an instant solution this is the wrong place for you.

Best of luck.

If you're looking to be successful in following your passion, you're going to be very disappointed with your ultimate results. I think you're very young -- living with your parents -- your picture -- your thinking patterns... If I were in your shoes, I'd make a plan to hold a series of strategic jobs. They will gain your skills, experience, and seasoning. In the meantime, you can explore some business options and learn as much as possible through books, this forum, and other resources. Wisdom, which begets long-term success, only comes through this long, painful process. People, who look like they are instant successes, have been building that track and working at for years and years.

Create a site where an employee can penned their frustration just like you.

Frustration posted must be mean, psychologically depressing. Anonymity should be at the highest level because this frustration will be sent to the employers at a price.
(Revenue model : set certain price category for email, postcard, private residence etc).

Imagine this the way to attract more traffic to your site for ads monetization.

Next, a rating list will be provided on the site. This information can be valuable to:

- Labor union
- University/colleges with internship programme
- Goverment agency
- Employment agency

Charge them for a price.
