All right, kids.

It's several days post B&P. The remnants of your invasion of Scottsdale, Arizona are now cleaned up.

Some of you are back at your day jobs. Some of you are back in your home country.

Some of you are unchanged. Some of you are changed for life.

Sound off. Why is today any different for you than the first day of Beer and Pancakes?

What are you doing differently today than you were not doing two weeks ago?

If you're the same today as you were two weeks ago (either first time attenders or veterans) you wasted your money.

What trajectory are you on? Discuss.

I found a cool place to buy socks in scottsdale!

met some good new peeps.

for me it was like a time machine.

"I remember those fears, and being THERE, in my journey."

it was interesting to see all the cool people going through the process. and where they were at.

good to meet MJ, and see he was a connoisseur of sock/sandals !
(well at least of the attitude of zero F*cks given)

Loved the Giant Jenga!

also

@RealOG and family were SUPER cool! thanks guys.
overall, I enjoyed it, and was happy to help.

I was one of the "changed forever" guys. I have my new Scottsdale sunglasses on. I like them.

I see opportunities that are so big I need those sunglasses. I didn't need them before. I had peaked.

I am working really hard...but it's super peaceful. I know whats possible, I know how to get there.

Long version

My hair is a 1/4 inch longer. My guns are 1/8 larger. My waist is 1/2 smaller.

Before B&P I thought Chris Waldron was a dick.
Now I think he's a BIG dick. ;)

I really enjoyed the interaction. People are doing a lot of great things. The presentations were eye-opening. Some got me thing differently or helped me to move back on track.

I wish there were more real estate focused people in the group though. There were only a couple of people that I was able to have any investing discussions with.

Going in to B&P I really didn't want to tell anyone what business I was working on, because I was not confident in it, and I thought everyone would think it was dumb. Walking out of B&P I realized that my business idea isn't dumb, and has a lot more potential that I thought it did.

Going in to B&P my attention was split between a few 'projects', and since I didn't have confidence in my idea I would get distracted by other ideas. Walking out of B&P I had focus on my one main project. I mentally destroyed ALL the ties to every other distraction and potential idea. Screw those things.

Going in to B&P I didn't have a support group. I had a friend or two who I would talk to about business (thanks @DennisDuty), but I didn't have a wave of encouragement behind me. Now I do. I have a mastermind group with my three other room mates, and we all spur each other to go faster and break through our mental barriers. I also have support from multiple guys from the forum, who I feel like I could message on facebook or call and they would help me out however they could.

Going in to B&P I didn't know how powerful a good funnel combined with media buying was. Now I do. I cant't wait to get better and better at building them and using them for everything.

And finally, going in to B&P I didn't have the drive to work like crazy. This was partially because my mind was split between ideas, and also because I didn't have confidence. Now, I am working like 12 hours+ every day and I don't even feel tired. I told @biophase right before I left that next year I will have some success to show the group. He said "if you don't I am going to kick you in the balls." Hahaha, so good. And if I fail, I will just get up again, because as @zen******* says "No one took away my birthday. I am still alive."

Great experience, thanks to everyone who I met there. You guys (and gals) are awesome.

why not put one on yourself? you organize it?

last year, I missed BNP because of food poisoning.

Kak setup one right after it, called capitalism and bacon. I helped organize it, contributed some people, and resources to it. and helped make it happen. you could do the same.....

I always teach to be the best at whatever you want to do...

I've now peaked as a product of that lesson.

I guess I'll have to take action huh? lol

I'll call it French Fries and Froyo. I'll pm you with questions about setting one of these up if you don't mind. And thank you for suggesting I DO something about it rather than me just waiting for something

I traveled a bloody long way to get there..hours on planes and at airports
i was starving for "entrepreneurial kindred spirits"
23 hours of travel later I arrived and my luggage was lost by the airline...
first insight was ..
for a 50 buck airline voucher for lost luggage you could really buy quite a lot in scottsdale.... socks.underwear, tshit, shirt and toiletries..:)
But seriously.....

Its the insight....
now back in the UAE ..i really feel i have a network of great people whom i can call friends who i can bounce off ideas..
i sit in meetings and the slowlaner mentality that surrounds me here really jumps out at me...it motivates me to get a kick up the a$$ and make things happen.
and I will ..

B&P didn't change me. It enhanced me, as new/old friends do.

Tribal people who don't live with Ford trucks, would probably be surprised by all the various descriptors Westerners know for them. The same goes for us when it comes to things like snow, ice or reindeer- when we learn new words in different languages, we gain a refined understanding of the nuances involved:
- " “aqilokoq” for “softly falling snow” and “piegnartoq” for “the snow [that is] good for driving sled,” "
- " “matsaaruti,” for wet snow that can be used to ice a sleigh’s runners, and “pukak,” for the crystalline powder snow that looks like salt."
- " “utuqaq,” ice that lasts year after year; “siguliaksraq,” the patchwork layer of crystals that forms as the sea begins to freeze; and “auniq,” ice that is filled with holes, like Swiss cheese."
- " ...1,000 words for reindeer. These refer to such things as the reindeer’s fitness (“leami” means a short, fat female reindeer), personality (“njirru” is an unmanageable female) and the shape of its antlers (“snarri” is a reindeer whose antlers are short and branched). There is even a Sami word to describe a bull with a single, very large testicle: “busat.” "

I guess I relate those foreign language word examples to B&P. First, each person brought a unique perspective. And second, each person brought some unique piece of knowledge to the table. These things made me better (for business, for life) going forward. For example:
~ Loved the sub-theme insight discussed about our tendency to jump to judgements.
~ Loved the idea of being unapologetically grandiose (in a good way), and being the best in the category (Geesh!: ___ a ___ ___ ___ ways, and ___ a ___ ___ of ___ to ___ ___. Who knew.)

And for the detail-oriented, I can report: beers consumed- zero; pancakes consumed- zero. Can't speak for others.

---

There really are 50 Eskimo words for ‘snow’

For one, I continued building my network. [I actually don’t like using that word in this situation as it seems too sterile.] Billy gave a great presentation about how his network saved him $700k. I’m more aware now than ever about the importance of a great network.

The people I met at B&P (this year and last) are more than a network. I consider them friends. As @Jill called it before… “My Tribe”. @Red and I had a meeting the other day and we talked about this. These are friends that get us. They understand what we strive for. They want to see us succeed. They are willing to help and if necessary call you on any BS.

At B&P this year…
I strengthened existing friendships.
I made new friendships.
I enlarged my tribe.

Also…
My path was strengthened.
My focus was enhanced.
Limiting beliefs were exposed (I didn’t even know I had some)

And…
A fellow fastlaner asked me a simple question during my presentation that could impact our lives forever ;)

There's really nothing that replaces the face-to-face interaction that meeting in person provides.

B&P remains my favorite weekend of the year.

I know I can call on any one of you guys for help, and you know you can count on me for support, too. I know I'm not on the forum much, but you guys know where to find me.

We're all friends on a mission. Love our tribe!

I enjoyed being able to peek behind the kimono of everyone’s business and hearing their stories in person. People of different ages, business experience, and life situations all working towards their goals. That’s pretty special and really opened my mind to what is possible.

I had the opportunity to personally thank some of the legendary contributors for all their posts that have helped me along.

To paraphrase @TopChef, one of my key take aways is to aim higher and move faster. I’ve started this by outsourcing a task I would normally do myself. This will enable me to first test the market for an invention I have before spending a lot more time refining the prototype.

Also, I’ve started eating paleo after learning about it from my roommate @Arrabista, and listening to @Likwid24, @MarkNNelson and @AllenCrawley discuss the benefits over lunch. My waistline has already reduced since starting this week.

@LightHouse - I noticed your editorial changes before the bolding, though I had to do a double take the first time :)
