No it's not Shark Tank. I apologize for getting anyone excited. LOL

I will however be on the Food Network show "Chopped". This Sunday night at 9pm. Watch me compete against 3 other firefighters from different cities in a very crazy, stressful competition.

I can't give away any details until after the show airs. We'll see how they make things appear on camera, then I'll explain how it went down. :D

PS - They might want me to do another show soon - "Guys Grocery Games"

Hahahaha. Not on this show. Although Barbara would have loved if I did that on Shark Tank.

Sal, is there anything you don't do?

I'm going to be screaming 'I know that guy!' during the whole episode.

Keep rocking!

Had a funny experience on the plane with my dad. We were both reading Skymall, talking about the sales copy and how Skymall works, etc. when I saw the Paint Brush Cover. I told my dad 'I know the guy who's selling that!' He turns to me and is like "Really?"

Pretty awesome stuff. Can't wait for your Shark Tank episode!

Oh wow, that's so cool!!!
Dang, now I'm almost wishing I could get any channels on my TV. I only say "almost" because cancelling TV was actually a good decision for us, but man, that would've been so neat to see. Any chance of you posting a clip after the fact?

Likwid. I am so envious of you! Speed +++

Competitive cooking shows are my favorite! Must have been a great experience to go through. I have seen a thousand different challenges chefs are presented with and I cannot imagine a more difficult thing to pull off.

Unfortunately I don't have cable so I will have to rely on your play by play. :notworthy:

I have "one degree of Kevin Bacon" with an Iron Chef winner - if it's helpful I can probably arrange an introduction (the chef works in NYC).

Funny..by choice, I don't have cable either. Seems a lot of Fastlaners, or up and coming Fastlaners don't have cable. I love it. Now I don't feel so all alone. :embarrased:. How about a hug :woot:

That show is intense, will have to watch it asap. Half the time I see what's in those baskets I think to myself "How the hell is someone supposed to make a meal out of that?" I think I remember John telling me you were on a cooking show with Rachel Ray as well, no? How do you always get casted haha

That was pretty cool, Sal. You gotta admit its a little ironic. A health nut like you got penalized for using too much butter and fat. Awesome job though. Look forward to more updates on the real business and I'm sure you will kick a$$ on the Tank! Good luck!

My bad. I may have you mixed up with another member. For some reason, I thought you were dogging america for being fat and unhealthy in another thread. Regardless, your dish did look pretty good. Did you actually taste it? Was it good or not?

I have been. The problem is that people don't understand what fat and unhealthy actually is. Fat isn't unhealthy. In fact, I run on fat. Get all my energy from fat. It's sugar and grains that are killing the us. lol

Yea it was good. I know the reason I lost. It wasn't because my dish wasn't good. They knew the fat on the plate was just for presentation. The host of the show came up to me afterwards and told me that I should have never been chopped. All 3 competitors were shocked that I went.

It was a great experience though. Oh well. Next time. I might be doing a show called "Guy's Grocery games".

You gotta admit its a little ironic. A health nut like you got penalized for using too much butter and fat.

People still go off of the outdated, unscientific rules of what counts as "healthy".

Whole Eggs are some of the healthiest things you can eat but people still think yolks cause bad cholesterol - which they don't.
People think grains are amazing for you and is a requirement for a healthy diet - they aren't.
People think fat makes you fat and you should eat very lean meats - also wrong.
People think you should eat fruit with indiscretion because of how ultra healthy it is - except most fruit are basically just sugar bombs and little else and should be eaten in moderation.

You can't blame people for being misinformed - they've been "lied to" (purposefully or not) for decades. The government tells them wrong information, the news tells them wrong information and their closest friends and family and grandparents tell them the wrong information.

You need to have an active interest in your health to seek out proper information.

I realize I haven't posted on the forum in a while and I have some catching up to do (wow the forum even got a makeover while I was gone, lol).

BUT I wanted to comment here and say it was VERY cool seeing our friend Sal on tv last night!! My wife and I were rooting for you and thought it was so unfair you got chopped so early. But either way, good job my friend! :)

I am definitely one of those fruits and low fat eating guys. Im healthy but would like to know more. Is there a website or book that explains further the real truth about the right way to eat? Thanks.

I love Robb Wolfs "The Paleo Solution". There's a paleo thread on this forum that's full of great info.
