What ? Tbh I though the main thing is people just triying the app and then deciding if it's useful. I have in mind the idea of improving copy, likely I'll do it tomorrow. So far I focused on the free trial, 10 minutes and today I set up that after the first 10 min if you put your email you get an extra 10 min free trial. What’s the number one question you think people have before signing up?
You hid it behind a drop down faq and then you open the drop down and you couldn’t even be bothered answering that question
I will think about the main objections as you sugest, thank you !
Thanks Kimc, i like your idea of selling the dream, probably the right approach.I gave it a quick view. I thought it was cool it automatically detected my language and altered the front page. The translation was good but still slightly off at times. When I read it, I felt it was machine translated. If it didn't do that naturally, I might wonder as a consumer if it is good enough for me to learn a language with.
I like the general design. It's clean and answers some basic questions I might have.
As a consumer I don't just want to learn a language, I want to be able to connect with people irl in France for instance. You mention this feature, that feature. But why not give examples that are more useful to me ? Or sell me the dream of learning a language ?
The image of the lady gives me AI generated or stock photo vibes. I know why you likely picked it. To show what the consumer could look like and how easy it is to learn using your software. Personally it put me off a bit.
When I press login I get redirected to a Google login page. Where it asks me to auth to a seemingly suspicious supabase. The average consumer might be confused and the random name looks weird. I understand why it is like that, but others might not. Maybe add a middle layer before Google auth.
The sign up looks nice. I briefly clicked through it. Seemingly nice. Maybe add that my mother language is where I come from. I had to select it I think ?
I also suddenly got a request for microphone access. I wasn't expecting it. I didn't allow it. The page crashed with an error and some console stuff. I wasn't redirected back and explained what happened.
That's my two cents. Hope you can use it.
On a personal note: Well done for actually building something that is hopefully useful ! Don't be discouraged by lack of interest. Learn all you can and improve. Never give up.
Well the app asks for your mic because the idea is that you will actually speak and practice and have a conversation, perhaps that should be more clear ?
You are the second person that tells me about the supabase stuff, I though it wasn't a big deal but maybe it is.
The landing page is really basic, was focused on the main functionality, I got the client-side live transcription working just two days ago. There is so much stuff to do, product, marketing, videos etc I get overwhelmed, but your feedback definately helps to see what a visitor might find important or skeechy and must be improved, thanks !
