Yeah, that would be better for me to do. I also realize I need to change my mindset when I join these groups. I'm thinking about how can I help them but I think it may be more from a selfish standpoint. When I should be joining and trying to actually be a part of a community.Consider NOT joining with a goal of finding clients to ghostwrite for. Maybe start your own newsletter and go in as a peer. Figure out how to grow a newsletter, monetise a newsletter, get sponsors, publish consistently, choose a format, etc. Bounce around as a peer and see what happens. Maybe you go down the newsletter rabbithole and end up not even being a copywriter? It seems counterintuitive but I think that approach would help you get to know newsletter owners better and end up bringing more copywriting clients if you do go that route.
Yeah, it's a possibility that I may prefer having a newsletter to copywriting. I'll make sure to be a peer in the community and connect and learn as much as I can.
