Off the top of my head:

- Inflammation due to higher cortisol from the stress and intensity of those games can lead to all kinds of autoimmune problems

- Blood pressure goes WAY up in a competitive video game

Ever noticed how playing fully focused and competitive for hours on end causes your face and ears to go red and feel hot? It's your blood pressure shooting off into the sky. I know because I've measured it and mine is always perfect whenever I'm just hanging around doing nothing.

But after during/after an intense gaming session? It goes very high.

Anyway, I don't think this is such a huge issue as long as you counteract the effects by walking, working out, sleeping regularly, eating healthy, etc.
Cool! I guess I just need to add more exercise then if I want to keep playing Warcraft 3 beyond my 30s

Actually I really think gaming can have some positives. Some time ago I finished Assassins Creed Odyssey and I was blown away. The world there was so beautiful and I just loved that feeling of sinking into ancient Greece.
Now I dont have as much time, as I learn most of my days, but if I finish all tasks before 8 pm I always play some singleplayer adventure games.

Btw. I think everyone must play Unravel, such a great game!

Recently I only played some sim racing games like Assetto Corsa and iRacing, but I've actually learned a lot from real-life roleplay games on SA:MP in the past, on servers like LS-RP if any of you all know these.
You roleplay a citizen in the united states and can do whatever you want- there's a whole system of law, and other shit that makes it super realistic and accurate to real life.
You trade, advertise, buy, sell houses, cars, negotiate with actual people, hustle for money and learn a lot of things you don't learn in school.. So I've actually learned a ton from living in a virtual gamespace for around 3 hours a day when I was like 12 to 17...

At the end of this month, I sell my gaming pc at my brother. I definitively stop video game.
I play since my 5 or 6 years old, now I have 26 and I want focus more on my different business because video games take too many hours for me. I think i'm a little addict...

I play games mainly on the weekends with friends. Usually Madden, but sometimes we'll play an old wii sports game to mix it up. Some of them are more into the online gaming scene, which isn't really for me, but I like the classics. Currently trying to track down an N64 so we can play the old Mariokart.

It should be on the Switch if that's something you'd be interested in too.

This thread shows what a great business video games are... and video game peripheries, video game accessories, and things related to video games...

Every time you play a game think about this: am I consuming or producing? Does this give me some producing-related ideas?

It's okay to consume sometimes too though. And of course your business might have nothing to do with games, technology, hardware, etc. and that's fine

I don't see how you can produce by playing a game, unless you are the creator with the aim of improving it. Then I heard about video games that win NFTs but that's another topic haha.
Seeing yourself in the 3rd person is indeed very useful, it's what made me want to stop after more than 20 years of playing video games every night. It's a pleasure but it eats a lot of time there's no denying it, I prefer to do sports, arts, guitar etc.

I own 2000+ games (most of which are crappy indie games), but now I play less than 5h/week, because I simply have more entertaining hobbies.
Namely, I go outside and play basketball, which feels way more rewarding, as I get to build physical skills and my physique rather than my gaming skills.

However, I don't have a negative attitude toward video games, and I'm still open to playing those, as well as tabletops.
I bought Europa Universalis IV some months back while it was heavily discounted, but it's a chore to learn, so I haven't really started playing it yet.

Right now, the most gaming I do is a weekly-ish Mario Kart tournament.
Although, I am considering picking up Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, as well as Kirby and the Forgotten Land, since I'm a sucker for platformers.

Regarding NFT games, I tried Gods Unchained, but it felt impossible to actually earn valuable cards, so I quit.

I've been playing games since I was 10, bennu 47 jears now, so that's quite a long time. One of my companies is specialized in working with young gamers. We have been training and coaching professionals and parents for many years. 4 years ago I also wrote a book and soon a new product will be released.

Would like to spread my knowledge and experience more widely around the world. So if people from this forum are interested ..dm me ;)

If so, what games have you been playing lately?

ALSO, I'm acutely aware a lot of people here get weirdly vocal about games and how tHeY jUsT wAsTe tImE and aNy gOoD eNtRePrEnEuR sHoUlD oNlY fOcUs oN wOrK. This thread ain't for you. Please spare me the sigma nonsense.

I only ask because a good friend-turned-client of mine who I met through playing video games together mentioned how great it is to find someone of similar age and interests who also owns their own business so.. we can't be the only two people. And now I'm curious.
Started in my teens with RTS games (Warcraft/Starcraft). I was in high school when World of Warcraft came out, and I quickly became obsessed. Somewhat funny as, at one point in time, I WAS that level 10 Druid MJ references, LOL (though I later swapped to a Warlock).

These days, I only play Hearthstone in short bursts (1-2 games/day, at most), due to the guilt I feel over having wasted half of my life playing WoW. After 17 years of commitment, ranking top 5 and top 10 Warlock in the world multiple times, multiple gladiator titles, Scarab Lord title, etc. I can safely say my desire to play video games is next to non-existent. I don't think that'll ever change, moving foward.

Is it the same/similar to the N64 version?
I'm pretty sure it's the same. There are NES, SNES and N64 games on the Switch, emulated for the most part. I think some have been adapted to support online multiplayer (I haven't tried that though).

I've been playing Days Gone lately. Not obsessively but usually on my lunch breaks. Very well made, post zombie apocalypse game.

I love creative games that let you build/design even if complicated. I honestly plan on using quite a bit of what I learned in video games to continue my unscripting. None of my life experience is going to waste as of late.

That said Factorio is a great rewarding game that will destroy all the free time you have.

I think even sir MJ has mentioned that he also likes playing video games in one of his 3 books. I remember reading about it.

You seriously created an account here a year ago just so you can backlink in the most retarded way possible?

He's gone as is all his posts. He went back and added backlinks in all his posts, and to avoid detection, put them in people's quotes.

Thanks for reporting.

I use to play a lot of video games growing up, now I don't play nearly as much, if not at all. I use to go to conventions as well, but their getting boring as sometimes you would see the same stuff or vendors over and over again. I like to find vendors that are unique.

Most games couldn't even keep my mind stimulated anyway haha! I would get bored quite easily.

I used to play so much and so many video games. I have very fond memories of some of them. Age of Empires, the Total War series, The Witcher, The Legend of Zelda... I could mention dozens and dozens. But they take up so much time, which is finite unfortunately and I decided to stop years ago as I have goals I think are more important in life.

Right now I find myself with some spare time after achieving a business milestone, and I must say the only thing that stands between me and playing again is that I purposefully bought a computer that is NOT made for gaming. I wish time was infinite

Last time played in Flatout in january maybe, not sure. Yeah bought this game in steam for 1 usd, played for 6 hours and stoped. Regularly now i do not play. But i liked to play fps like Battlefield, cod, csgo. I have some friend how kind of successful and play (they freelance gives them about 10k$/month). They favorites are Diablo, games on PS5 (i do not know exactly) and they do it almost everyday and do not have any problems with it.

Cheers.

I was playing Diablo for ages (good times!), but I see it's not just me who doesn't play that often anymore. Although I admit, I do check every now and then for some good mmorpg or new p2e games, hoping I'll have more free time at some point. But you know how it goes in the glorious adulthood - there's always something.

Currently playing 2 games (Valorant, Hearts of Iron 4) but I'm trying to quit outright to totally focus on my goals.

My hours have been becoming much, much less than they used to be (~2h a day compared to a previous 8h a day).

I have met one successful entrepreneur over Valorant ,however, he's more of a sidewalker than a fastlaner even if he did make 7 figures off his business. Still doesn't make up for the time I've wasted unfortunately

I play cod mobile but recently deleted it because of exams I got going on. My problem is that I tend to fall into a black hole of endless gaming sessions and perpetual guilt whenever I hop on. I end up getting obsessed over the most minute details like whether the skins I use on my guns match up with the characters in my loadouts.

Getting out of that gaming black hole takes a lot of discipline or a FTM.

But I don’t see myself reinstalling the game just because it’s always the same thing: think I can control it, then black hole sucks me in. It’s probably because of some neural pathway that’s been formed by thousands of hours of gaming without consequence.
