Why are there no “guru” courses on carpet cleaning?

I run an ugly business. I just modified MJ's book with mental images of myself middle-lane driving in a box truck instead of a fastlane in a lambo.

There are, for example you can search for the Joe Polish carpet cleaning course. I didn't post the link because the top search result is his really hard-sell sales letter, which I felt might be inappropriate to paste here.

Edited: Thanks MJ for pointing out carpet cleaning threads (no pun intended) right here, with great advice shared for free!

I added carpet cleaning on to my house cleaning business back in the day. I did the 1st house and quickly turned it over to my worker because it was not something I wanted to do again. lol I actually did do more because I wanted to learn the business but not with a wand, I bought a RotoVac which made the job much easier.... but I still let him do most of it it. lol At one time I had 2 techs cleaning carpet along with my girls cleaning houses. It is a money maker but you can't really learn it in 1 weekend. I guess you can learn HOW to do the actual cleaning but not how to get stains out. If you're going to do carpets for businesses (We rarely did. We only did residential.), you should learn to strip & wax for commercial jobs.

In the Waco area you might be in an area that still has a lot of carpet so you might do well. My brother used to live in Marlin in the 70's. A very successful company in Waco is the Dwyer Group. Now do not buy a franchise from them but they have basically come up from nothing and now they are the parent company for like 7-8 franchises. So, you can be successful in carpet cleaning, you will just need to put in the work and get out of the field quick! That's the secret.

@IceCreamKid actually provided a great thread here on the carpet cleaning business...

And even better...

It is GOLD.

And even better X 2...

IT IS FREE and probably better than any GURU course.

GOLD! - Making Money For Dummies (And In a Crowded Market)

Enjoy!
I was looking for that one all day yesterday! I read it about a year ago and forgot to bookmark it.

Here's some other ugly real world business threads that I've found very applicable to my boring business: (maybe they'll be helpful to op)

NOTABLE! - [Progress] Growing a Cleaning Business

GOLD! - How I earned money (hustle arbitrage) to start a real business.

sh*t! That's a new one too... See? This is why need to stop disappearing for years at a time.

This forum's like Dr. Who's TARDIS, even if you've been down the hallway before, some new rooms have magically appeared since you were last there... some of them filled with unexpected wonders, some with scary monsters inside! Make sure sonic screwdriver's in hand, and go explore!

Rohan Gilkes is basically the leading guru in the local business space.

He's taken the idea fastlane by starting up companies that make the harder aspects of local businesses easier (like appointment scheduling software, high converting web templates, app tools, etc...).

Honestly the local business angle is one of the more interesting things I've seen in entrepreneurship trends in the last few years. And honestly, it's well needed and about time.

There's an endless supply of guru courses on becoming a Facebook Ads agency for local service businesses.

I've got a big (and free!) local lead gen thread in my signature. Here's the link:
