So if Runum has a son and he's a chip off the ol' (engine) block . . .

Would that make the two of 'em Runa? :seeya:

Benefits of a classical education! (Name that movie.).

I have no idea how I stumbled upon this ancient thread. But I always find it fun to re-read old threads.

5 years of Latin, Russ. So if Caesar ever comes to town, I'll be in good shape. :smxE:

64, 16, 4, 1, 1/4, 1/16, 1/64

64 = 4 * 4 * 4

16 = 4 * 4

1 = 4/4 (4 divided by 4)

1/4 = 4 divided by 4 divided by 4

1/16 = 4 divided by 4 divided by 4 divided by 4

1/64 = 4 divided by 4 divided by 4 divided by 4 divided by 4

(and next highest would have been 64 * 4 = 256)

*******

For the numbers one, they liked 900, since it was 30 x 30 (all of the others were squares as well).

******

I looked at the prune, etc question as stone fruit vs seeds, but SteveO's vine vs trees works, too (you'd think I woulda seen that one, being in the Napa Valley and all . . . )

Actually, Rawr, while I agree with you to some extent. It actually has the opposite effect on me. I.e. "If I'm so darned smart, why am I still working 60 hrs/week doing stuff I hate?" type of self-loathing.

Everytime I take one of these, I'm just reminded once again that I must not be working up to my potential. Remember how Lecagy defined "Hell" at B&P?

I didn't know ^that^ Jill! My next tattoo is going to be a Latin translation of "As you believe, so shall it be." -any help with that? I've already got "Aut viam inveniam aut faciam" on my business cards.

Cool! Well, the most literal translation would be "Ut vos puto , sic vadum is exsisto." But it's been 30 years!! Let me check with someone who is a little more of a Latin scholar!! I would hate for you to end up with a somewhat permanent tat that translates: "Think about to do be do." LOL.

There was only 1 question in the entire exam that I had to guess -- the one about the cherry and the peach. Anyone know the answer? Obviously, anything under 150 means that some questions I answered were not correct -- this was probably one of them. Who knows the correct answer?

Are a pit and a seed the same? I wish they would tell you which ones you got wrong.

The last time I took one of these was in grade school - I have no idea what my score was then.

And, no, my name is not Sally. ;)

Interesting... 100th percentile in 3/4 but my spatial reasoning evidently sucks compared to 30-40% of the population.

Probably ought to warn other drivers not to get too close to my gas chugging XL Yukon Denali lest they go from Y to ___ because I lack the requisite spatial reasoning capacity to avoid flattening their a$$.

See this would be so impressive if I wasn't the only non-PhD scientist in the family, they called me the 'funny, athletic child' and patted me on the head when I looked confused.

Wait til the wife takes it and we'll all be depressed. She typically scores "WOW" on these things.

140- However, I put very little stock in these online tests. From what I have observed in the past, IQ tests are timed. Time restrictions severely hamper decision making from what I have noticed with others. Also, the site has an incentive to throw out higher scores. If MJ had scored 101, how likely would he have been to post this here? We will never know, but higher scores means more challenges to friends, and more upselling and ad clicking. Just my 2 cents.
