It is Wordpress webdesign and Copywriting. I offer WP consulting & copywriting as part of the digital agency that I am to spin-off. At the moment not specific to any industry - I need to course correct as I go.
I have considered below names/domain names. Please rate these as a user/site visitor what is attractive.

  1. WPcopyconsulting.com
  2. Hustlemarketingservices.com
  3. copycontenthub.com
  4. gowordpresscopy.com
  5. localsgodigital.com
Please rate best to worse.

Thanks all in advance.

5 would be really good if your niche is building sites for businesses looking for local lead gen.
Don't like the other 2.

What about a name that gives a nod to what you do, and allows you to change your offerings later without having to change the domain name?

I like vagueish domain names (that are easy to say and spell), and super targeted taglines. You change the tagline as your business evolves, and you hone in on your offer.

SampathDigital.com
“Website design and copywriting for Wordpress sites.”

That’s a crap tagline by the way. Because we don’t know who you help, what you help them with, and how you do it.

Questions for you:

Who do you help?

What do you help them with?

How do you do it?

From best to worse in my opinion: 3,1,4,5,2.

I also agree with what Andy is saying. Create a name that is easy to say and remember. Something that rolls of the tongue well. Also try getting one with a .com too if possible.

I like 2 because it sounds like a brand.

Distinguish yourself from the plethora of boring services that already do what you do.

Hi Andy

Great questions, thank you for asking them...here are the answers:
1) Who do you help?
Business who do not have online presence OR existing businesses who may have online presence
2) What do you help them with?
Help them create more online presence want to increase their presence, ultimately leading to more market presence, lead gen for their services and monetization of their services.
3) How do you do it?
Using Wordpress webdesign (includes social media - i may not do this but get it done) and Copywriting
Hope my answers are clear and makes sense

I have absolutely no professional expertise, so this is entirely my opinion as an uninformed consumer - I don't like any of them, and Andy's suggestion went 'ding ding' in my mind. The five listed sound really generic to me, whereas "Sampathdigital.com" says to me "I am my own brand, digital is what I do".

Consider targeting so that 1) is at least businesses already using Wordpress. Ideally businesses already paying money each month for whatever you do.

How can you write your three sentences more succinctly?

Mine could be:

We help blacksmiths get more phone calls and sales using Google Ads and mobile websites.

I suggest that 1) is businesses already using Wordpress.

- Domain looks like either SampathDigital.com (firstname based) or SubramsDigital.com (surname based); I might go with the second one...since many of other places i use "Subrams"
- New businesses anyways, I will use Wordpress
- What if the businesses where they dont even know if they are using Wordpress? How do we handle this (you have a point)? Just thinking how to get around this one!
Tagline: "We help you go Digital"

From best to worst.
3. copycontenthub.com - this sounds good, you could turn it into copywriting market for freelancers
6. SampathDigital.com - i agree with what Andy said about more vague name. But you could avoid Your name in it, just in case if you'd want to sell the business down the road.

1.WPcopyconsulting.com - bad - too narrow
2.Hustlemarketingservices.com - who is hustling you or them? It might be seen as you and not professional.
4.gowordpresscopy.com - bad- i can't even read that. Is it "goword -presscopy"?" And its narrow, too.
5. localsgodigital.com - It has "god" in the middle ;)

Sales is a screening process

If they don't know they're even using Wordpress, then that should screen them out?

Let's forget the word "tagline". Complete the following:

We help ....(WHO)..... to do/get .....(WHAT).... by ....(HOW)....

Note that WordPress is a registered trademark, and you're sure to get a C&D nastygram from the WordPress Foundation.
While they're not likely to actually sue you (unless Matt doesn't like you or something :playful:), I don't think it's kosher to start a business around and benefit from a free tool (which you probably don't even contribute to) while knowingly infringing on its trademark.

And as an active WordPress support volunteer, I can 100% assure you that you're not going to get any love in the WordPress support forum if you should ever ask for help on a website infringing the WordPress trademark.

IMO, I personally would go with none of these and choose something shorter.
Those names are not easily memorable and even harder to type out (especially on mobile phones).

Maybe names like HustleWP or WPTechGuy are better (assuming the domains are not taken).

Don't like any of them. They all seem to be third-tier (Nothing is available!) names. One of your most important decisions is your naming.

All of these names are bad, I wouldn't use any of them. I recommend this site - Lean Domain Search. You can type in keywords and it will give you domain name suggestions which are not registered. With a bit of creativity, a good name which resembles your service shouldn't be too difficult to find.

Also, because you supply more than one specialized service, I would look in to names with "media" in it, or similar terms, as opposed to copy/web/design.

Hi MJ
Sorry, did not understand.
How you mean?
MJ is saying they look like names picked because the ones you want are already taken.

There’s a few good domain/business naming threads. I’m on my phone so am not going to look and link.

Honestly, am working through the list. Those were the first few names I came up with.
"SubramsMedia" - sounding brandish, has media, has part of my surname...
available as well - sounds about right.
"Connecting Businesses and Customers through Webdesign and Copy"
"Bridging Businesses and Customers through Webdesign and Copy"

I suggest getting more specific about who you’re helping, what you’re helping them with, and how you’re doing it.

It doesn’t have to be your website tagline, but it will be the coat hanger that everything else hangs off.

Btw... it can take a while to get to a sentence you’re happy with. That’s ok. That’s part of the process.

It’s why a vaguish but brandable domain name helps.

I like XYZmedia.com names.

Threads “Clarity of purpose” and “Finding your focus” may help.

Threads “Clarity of purpose”
Hey Andy
Thank you for pointing to those threads.
Wise words.
I belong to the same category of thinking and doing;
- What value can I bring to the market?
- What problems can I solve for others with my skill?
- How purposeful/useful can I be?
- Value over activity

Can't agree more!!.
"Am I going in the right direction? "
I keep asking this question very often, as it is very easy to derail (at least for me).
Thanks for reminding, still on the right track.

Hi Andy
I understand, it takes more time and experience to come up with proper tagline.
Would it hurt to come up with a tagline now and tinker it as I go with experience; or is it something to be nailed down now?

Personally, I've found it evolves over time. Who I help, what I help them with, and how I do it - this has got more and more focused over time as I've learned from engaging the market rather than navel gazing.

HTH!
