Hey Fastlaners,
I’m looking for your perspective on when an exit from my job is financially justified.
Current situation:
My businesses (both still in early stage):
Exit plan:
Question:
From your perspective, when is the exit rationally justified?
– After X months of proven recurring revenue?
– After the first big real estate commission?
– Or is my current financial buffer + clear roadmap enough to justify pulling the trigger earlier?
Would appreciate your honest opinions on balancing financial security vs. speed of execution.
I’m looking for your perspective on when an exit from my job is financially justified.
Current situation:
- Salary: 2,480 € net/month (Germany)
- Runway/savings: currently ~33k, expected to reach ~40k by March 2026
- Allocation: all invested in stocks, ETFs, and crypto – but liquid if needed
- I´m completely debt free
- Current job: I hate it, it damages my health, and I see no long-term future there
- Hard deadline: I will quit in March 2026 regardless of traction until then
My businesses (both still in early stage):
- Investio (AI Investment Bot)
- Currently building the platform (backend in place, now working on UI/Streamlit).
- Standard subscription planned at 30 €/month.
- Roadmap: Premium version (server-based, automation), Ultimate version (alerts, news analysis).
- Concrete future plans: additional niche bots (real estate scouting bot, content bot, coaching bot).
- Scouting business (real estate, off-market lots for investors)
- Real estate license: application submitted, waiting for approval.
- Business model: find off-market plots (5,000–15,000 m²), match them with investors, earn 2–3% commission per deal.
- Current status: no deals closed yet, but already in contact with municipalities and investors.
Exit plan:
- Build both businesses in parallel while still employed.
- Quit by March 2026 at the latest (runway ~40k).
- Aim: first paying customers in Investio + first closed real estate deal before then.
- Health is deteriorating in my job → so waiting indefinitely is not an option.
