If we do everything that we are taught by the latest youtube videos, our morning routine would take about 4 hours and have us starting work at 11am... meditation, exercise, wim hof, sauna, cold shower, journal, read, affirmations, visualizations etc etc.

I'm not saying these things don't have value, of course they do. I just think they might offer an unrealistic insight into the day of an actual 'coffee and diesel' entrepreneur (non social media/online guru guy). The most successful guys I know wake up, grab a coffee, and get straight to their work desk.

What works for you?

Not exactly crushing it in business yet, but taking action to transition out of my time-for-money tuition business into C.E.N.T.S.

My most productive days actually begin the night before. I tend to experience clarity before sleeping re: what I want to do the next day, so I write down 2-8 bullet points. They might be task-specific 'todos', but they could also be things to contemplate, a principle to keep in mind, anything that directly or indirectly moves me toward my goals, or seems like a worthwhile experiment to run. (I've found the value of an attitude of experimentation to be vital, because it means I don't have to know that what I'm doing is right ahead of time.)

I'll typically take just one caffeinated drink and then go in one of two directions—
1. take in inspiration if I'm feeling less motivated (this morning was MJ YouTube vids while I did the dishes);
2. grab the laptop and get right to it.

I don't eat breakfast, so I'll tend to go solidly from 6/7/8 AM to 1/2/3pm, when I'll make a green smoothie. What happens after that varies. When I'm excited by the work, I might go until 8 PM. When I'm not, I'm generally accepting that 5 hours of focused work is enough, practicing 'winner effect' on that, and then seeing if I can aim for 5 hours 10 minutes next time.

I wake up usually by 2 am, stretch, drink a glass of water, start coffee. Then I go outside in the dark and walk a couple of miles to toss around whatever thoughts come to mind. When I get back I start on any client work for the next hour or two. Exercise around 6 am. After that, I do whatever for the rest of the day. Lately, it's practice piano.
