What percentage of the fastlane forum users do you think are successful?

Back for a bit and this was one of the first threads I came across.

Here's my answer.

This whole thing is a journey. I could make a list of people that were here in the early days of this forum (before me) that in your eyes would be successful.

There have also been posters here who had all appearances of being successful, only to find out they were holding a bluff hand at best, or a house of cards. It's the internet. Don't believe everything (or most things) you read.

I've built and sold two companies. I have made a ton of money and spent even more. I could list for you off the top of my head a dozen people from here that I know personally that may meet your criteria of "rich" at $1m+.

However, here's the value of this forum for YOU. If you take a few things away from this, or from reading MJ's books that change the trajectory of your life, that's what matters.

I've been worth millions. I've been worth -$1m (different story, for a different day). I am now building what I think will be my greatest masterpiece (one of the businesses with @Kak who just left here for a bit because he felt like he was beating his head into a brick wall.)

My money management skills suck. My entrepreneurial skills are great, and I attribute that to

Take the best of what the forum has to offer. Compare less to others. Grab on to the different way to think. Use it to build, slowly if you need to.

Here's a better question. What % of employees are financially free? I guarantee you without hesitation that the % of the people here who escape the race free will exceed the % of the people in the general population that "retire" and need their social security payments to sustain their existence.

Learn from this place. Read the threads of the posters that are no longer here like @biophase, @AllenCrawley (I assume he's gone), @Kak, @Kung Fu Steve, and many more.

There's an MBA in this place of businesses. I've learned more from my failures than I have from my successes. The scars I have on me should be of more value to you than my bank account (which is OK now but needs replenishment.)

I'll try and pop in from time to time. I am leery based on what I have heard recently about low value posts and posters, but I guess those have always been here and you need to learn how to read for value and filter bullshit. I can't let this place become the time suck it once was for me, but I'll be watching to see what YOU become.
