This bicycle I got on Craigslist 6 years ago for $100.

I ride it 2000 miles or so a year.

Saves our family from owning a 2nd car and such related expenses.

Keeps me in shape.

Gives me fun/joy and cool experiences with the kids.

I didn't buy this but I rent a space that includes one and would buy it if I needed to.

I used to think that super high-end office chairs were a rip off, and I have always used mid-range (<$400) office chairs that were most of the time some kind of faux leather that would always tear or break after a few years.

I end up doing a lot of sitting while developing GoalSumo.com throughout the day, and I used to always be (somewhat) sore after 2-3 hours of sitting at my desk.

While I'm not recommending this habit, I can easily sit in this chair for 6-7 hours without any issues or aches. I'm 23 so I'm guessing folks with a few more miles on the odometer might get even more benefit from one. My office space has these all over the place, and they have never replaced one.

At first I thought that I wouldn't like these due to the fact that the backrest angle can't be adjusted, but as I've used it, it turns out it really didn't matter at all. I seriously think this chair is more comfortable than most couches and loveseats folks have in their living room.

According to Google lens, this is a Herman Miller Cosm, and I looked around and saw that they were significantly cheaper than the Aeron chair most people recommend ( I think it's about $1000, less if used).

Bonus value: I recently purchased my first coffee mug as an adult (I don't drink coffee). I bought it as a little desk artwork piece more than anything, and it's been bringing me so many micro-doses of joy each day. I don't put anything in it, I just have it for show. It was $15 at a Google store.... It's the Google Chrome offline dinosaur game.

Every morning, I make a decsion if I want the dinosaur side or the buzzard side, sometimes I even flip it around at lunch time.

This is very unspecific but books:

Immense value in pages of books that can cost between £2-£30. Notable books include 80/20 theory, tmf , unscripted , the truth neil strauss.

Incredible value and cheap too

Not much. I took advantage of a situation where this particular place is not making a ton of money and appreciates the revenue, even if it’s not exactly their listing price. Renting office space is not their main business.

My space is only 66 sqft, but it has big windows and tall ceilings so it’s not claustrophobic, just cozy.

It’s a very good value for me. I get stir crazy very easily and need to have some place to go to away from home.

Have you found it valuable to separate your working space away from home? Looks like it's worth the value man :). It looks like you can get a lot done without any distractions near you.

By the way, are you a fan of laravel? Have you heard of laracasts?

A computer. For 3-400 dollars you can get a device that is able to build you a massive business. Massive ROI. Although, if you only use your pc for gaming, entertainment and porn, then it’s the worst investment possible.
Can you tell me which parts are the best in this 300-400$ range? Even secondhand would suit me. Thanks!

I bought a Asus x415e. It does what i need it to. I just sole my other stationary pc for 550$. I didn’t need it anymore, a laptop seemed like a better option. You could probably get a better pc than i did for 350$.

That's what I was hopping for (a PC), as my laptop is dying (screen, CPU, battery, keyboard) and is much better than Asus x415e. laptops are really expensive for what parts they offer, but they give you mobility.

Have you found it valuable to separate your working space away from home?
Personally, yes. At one point in 2022, I had no car for 6 months in a heavily car-dependent area and it led to some severe depression on my side. Other people are perfectly fine with this, and I'm jealous of that ability. These days, I'm doing way better, but I do definitely make it a priority every single day to leave the house and do something in the outside world.

By the way, are you a fan of laravel? Have you heard of laracasts?
Ask & tag me on this question on the random chats thread and I'll respond. Kinda off topic here and I don't wanna flood the thread.

Getting people to clean windows for me.

I started to truly hate doing it myself. Since I am getting paid rather well, I can pay my buddies way more than McDonald's, thus I have great workers that do the dirty and dangerous work for me.

It's crazy how many people want to work for you if you pay 20€ an hour.
