I've always wondered if I was adhd. Very possibly, as I consign idea number 300 to the journal and move on without getting distracted.. But one thing is for sure, AI has made going from an idea to a super shiney object focus, to executing something working, so fast it actually lights me up. In the last week I had 4 days of blowing through a few ideas that have rattled around for a while. As much as I'm deep in executing the platform, there are parts of the day where I'm simply not doing anything worth the squeeze by forcing myself to do tasks that aren't really needed. Usually at times when the family and the rest of the world sleep
Client and app have been keeping me busy beyond reason the last week . Despite this for an hour in the morning I'd sooner build something rather than doom scroll or *shudder* listen to the news.
I rebuilt my old dealership website to list a few cars and add a bit of a community page and felt a bit reinvigorated, it's where my passion lies, the risk exposure and inccosistency just isn't where I need to be at the moment.
So once that was done I also, from start to finish, wrote a kids series of e-books.
At school I always wanted to be an entrepreneur, from seeing my dad run his business to selling everything I could find to sell whilst skipping school in my early teens. Way beyond where it was a few clicks to dropship from china, I'd scour ebay, find bargain gaming gear and sell it at a profit. I had a neighbourhood kid who sees me in different cars come knocking and ask how I afforded them, and I was really annoyed at myself that rather than some inspiring or even useful words, I just said lots of hard work.
I was half asleep at the time but feel hard on myself about it, a little bit of time costs nothing and can have a huge impact.
Then a chat with my daughter reminded me what it was like having ideas and dreams and not knowing where to start and learning the hard way. Stumbling on a thread by @tmf also reminded me how much I enjoy writing and how much better my brain works in all facets of life when I have a bit of a creative outlet.
So, website built, a series of free ebooks that I may or may not develop further to sell, branding, logos and something that I'll add to every now and then as an outlet, a resource to help kids see the world a little differently and have some guidance. It was also profoundly therapeautic being able to drop any sophistication in what I was writing compared to the commercial, legally loaded battle notes I find myself having to write for the day to day. And it all took me a grand total of two hours. Will enjoy seeing where it goes.
