I heard a nice conversation on the radio discussing “optimistic anxiety”.

Too much anxiety is bad, but a bit of anxiety is a good thing. A bit of anxiety makes people change their habits.

People are social distancing because they’re taking this seriously. I’m washing my hands more often because I’m taking this seriously.

But we need to be optimist that the new actions we take will make a difference.

It’s ok to be a bit anxious. It’s needed for us to change our habits.

Just add a touch of optimism to make it optimistic anxiety.

I’m all for optimism. The glass is always half full in my house.

Short term there is little to be that optimistic about to be fair but long term life will go on. We will get past this and hopefully it will bring peoples of different lands, languages and cultures closer together. We could all do with that.

Agreed. If your hours are cut, you get laid off, or projects dry up, don't wring your hands (too much). Use the time to think about a new venture, or how to scale/branch out in your current one.

If khabib Vs Tony gets cancelled again I will probably cry like a bitch. The universe doesn't want this fight to happen, lost count of how many times it's been cancelled before.

I’d buy you a box of tissues but people are using them in place of loo roll.
