To give more.

To engage the market more (speak to my potential customers to understand them better) engage the market first create the product second.

By engaging the market and helping people first, i can find out more about the market and offer an appropriate solution.

Not only do they benefit, i will also benefit.

It is a win win relationship.

This was one of the very best episodes we have recorded! You need people to make something bigger than you. You want it to be bigger than you because that is what makes a business worth owning.

If you have no leverage you have no real business, you built yourself a job. PEOPLE ARE IMPORTANT.

We mentioned this book Amazon.com: Give and Take: Why Helping Others Drives Our Success eBook: Grant Ph.D., Adam M.: Kindle Store

The success sandwich. The givers are often at the bottom not protecting themselves from getting run over by people that aren't so nice... But then the people at the very top are often great givers. You don't want to be in the middle anyway. There isn't much long term use for being a taker.

Read that book and learn to be more of a giver. It is part of being a great leader.

Loved it!

I can never hear enough about the importance “human-ness” in business!

Thank you @Kak and @Andy Black for reminding me that human relationships is the best foundation to build my business on.

Too often I forget that Mother Theresa quote. I have to remember that I’m in business to help people - that’s my purpose - the law of effection.

Thanks again guys!

I typed this as I listened (at 1.5x speed, you guys talk too slowly)
If you want to do something, get started
R+R= profit Repeat business & referrals
People listen to experts but follow leaders
Leaders have emotion
Don't tell people how to lead, show them
Business is a relationship
"Little diesel cars?"
Adam Grant talks more than Castro
Givers sandwich Matchers & Takers (top & bottom of companies)
Givers need to learn how to look after themselves so they can progress up the ladder
Great leaders praise in public criticise in private
Some people don't thank waiters *rolleyes* how rude are they
Mother Teresa was in business
Some people are mercenary
Andy got started with a "website," 50 Euros in an AdWords account & saved an electrician’s life
He still works on the coal face & loves it
Kyle has a signature walk

My takeaway is try to leverage the giving side to get what I feel I deserve & get something out of it for a change, too many Takers in this world with a "what's in it for me?" attitude

Although what the guys talk about might seem intuitive and empirical to us older guys, the younger members will definitely benefit from listening.

Thanks for posting this Andy & Kak

Good feedback. I wonder if the younger members see too much emphasis on "dominating" & "crushing" with all those memes of wolves and lions on social media?

you guys talk too slowly
Oh, I couldn't talk any faster since I'm thinking as I'm talking (and I'm thinking out loud). You can probably hear me change words mid-word, and sentences mid-sentence as I try to think on my feet. For some reason I just have to start speaking and follow the thought. For me to speak faster I'd have to think faster. Haha.

You're not alone. This is probably the biggest thing for me to work on.

IMO, business is simple: add value, get paid. We need to do both.

You've almost convinced me to take up golf @Kak.

What was that other book you mentioned? Simon Sinek was it?

Also... I did *not* know that had happened at the summit. That’s amazing. I’m sure I’d have welled up if I was there.

I wasn't expecting to be asked to close out the radio show. I got stuck and paused (I think you can hear it). You know how I got unstuck? I gave thanks, and then things started falling into place.

It reminds me of the line by the great copywriter Gary Halbert to "Darken the page." When you've got writers block then get a piece of paper out and just start.

Something I only noticed after is that I started by talking about you, and you brought it back to me later on @Kak. I think that’s quite telling.

Oh. When did you upload this one @Kak? It just popped up in my suggested videos list. Damn, I was close to the camera. All’s good now that my mic swing arm arrived.

That is actually pretty common of Englishman. LOL. The American "upper class" actually embodies a bit of an English way about them. It is classy not to talk about yourself.

I did that without thinking about it.

Dude you have Scotland like an hour away! I played the St. Andrews Old Course and Kingsbarns a couple of years back. Amazing!
