Morning,

I read Unscripted , it was very interesting and scary to read because it showed me why I put my dreams aside when I was 18 years old, and how stupid I was not to go the way of freedom.
Now I can understand my father better why he always did something different than everyone else, and why no one understood him.

Thank You.

Read. It's one of those books that gives you a shake. I've been disillusioned with self improvement for a while after overdosing on fake guru crap so I cut it out... finding Unscripted by accident after a referral on a YouTube video, it has given me the kick in the nuts I needed.. I feel reinvigorated and ready to find my passion again. Just finishing up 'start from zero' as a follow up, ties in very well with Unscripted ... Def put it on your reading list it it isn't already.

"Unscripted " should be taught in schools!!
Funny! People still send their kids there..LOL

I'd love to see chapter 40 - end of the book expanded in a new book, this is where the rubber hits the road, and it gets overwhelming!!
Plus some tips on the new age marketing & sales for those of us who want to provide value

I read it, and it was really impressive to realize how unaware i was, it's like when you don't feel trapped in your mind anymore.

I'm almost done with the book (30 pages left) and it has really talked to me. That's exactly what I'm going for. I first realized the unscripted life when my dad got fired (he was a salesperson at Agip) and he started to do exactly the same thing but by himself now (almost 20 years ago). It was a mind-blower! His income increase 20 fold at some point....and I was "yeah...I will never work for somebody for the rest of my life because they don't give a shit to you. When it is to fire you they will without looking back "
Anyways, the book "just" put in words everything that I saw my father doing and now I feel it's my turn :)
If you want REAL FREEDOM in your life I would say that this book is a must.

It's been almost a year later since I last read TMF and contributed to this forum.
I started reading Unscripted about a month ago and have gained valuable insight into my own psychological makeup that has hindered me from Unscripted success.
Namely, I lack Execution. In my defence, I don't believe it stemmed from laziness or lack of motivation more than misdirected focus on non-fastlane paths/projects. But also I'm a little slow with execution so I'll be accountable still.

Around this time last year, I had resolved to learn web development (check) and go the easy route by freelancing as a business model. I soon realised that freelancing was no different than working a regular job. I despised having to follow my clients around for their own benefit and having to wait on the same clients to make a move or give me the go-ahead in order for my projects to progress. Instead of appeasing a stereotypical tyrannical boss, I was basically settling to work even harder to run my business while appeasing bosses on rotation (the clients). Besides, scaling that model was tricky and I became uninterested in web development anyway. It reminds me of MJ's example of a woman who quit her job to open a restaurant only to work even harder and be more miserable.

Anyway, I eventually listened to my inner wailings and scrapped that pursuit and went back to the drawing board. I reaffirmed to myself that my mission is to make the world a better place via the creation of a product/service that solves a real market need. The skills that would put me in the most favourable space to realise this (and meet my talents) was programming. Not the web design variety - the world is saturated with these folk and besides, it's becoming increasingly automated so it won't remain that profitable over time. I'm talking about the programming that is oriented toward BUILDING. Building a product/service that is actually missing in the market or even that is at least 10% better than existing offerings.
Hence unfolded my journey to begin learning Python and soon realising my interest in AI, specifically Machine Learning. I'm currently taking online courses on statistics - building up my mastery in this domain. I'm planning on reaching the edge of this domain and exploiting its entrepreneurial potential!
Notably, it resonates with my childhood love of computer hardware [I've taken online courses in this too] as well as innate optimism about the future of robotics and automation.
Also, it suits my personality: I'm low in agreeableness and high in openness. I'm also low in conscientiousness but I'm working on that. Besides, the best way to work on it is to go all-in on passion projects so Yay-for-me :-D

I'm juggling the abovementioned project with my Law degree at the moment. It's not challenging yet (maybe I need to grind harder lol) because I actually approach my ML journey with passion and an innate longing to solve problems. Also, it's helping me not hate my Law degree because I might end up building something at the intersection of Law and AI/ML - the Law has historically been slow af to adopt technology anyway + almost none of my academic peers are remotely interested or inclined in computer sciences.

So yes, this is where I am on my Unscripted journey. I'm stumbling toward the light but I'm making progress still.
I am immensely grateful to MJ for dispensing this treasure trove of knowledge! I have that many more golden balls because of him ;-)

aside: idk when I'll be posting again but I'll be lurking now and then and whenever I make considerable progress on my fastlane endeavours I'll be back fo-sho. As of now, I'm working on achieving mastery in the Machine Learning domain so that I'll at least be a component Founder and also be able to iterate prototypes quickly as well as have better judgement wrt ML-related ideas I will have moving forward.

Onwards & Upwards!

Unscripted is genuinely my favourite book of everything I've ever read. You can feel the level of thought, detail and pure real world experience that has gone into writing it. It's revealing, thought provoking, red-pilling, and superbly written. Even the humour is nicely done - there's enough humour to add to the overall engagement you have with it, without there being so much humour to the point where it loses the seriousness of the message.

The first half of it, talking about the different paths, and beliefs, biases and bullshit etc., I would recommend even to someone who has literally zero interest in entrepreneurship, as it's still valuable to know in my opinion, even if you are someone who is thriving in and loving the slowlane (not many admittedly, but there are always some exceptions to the rule!).

In short, an epic read jam packed with value, and a book that will age very well!

I've read UNSCRIPTED . Very good read!!

MJ lied that there isn't a step-by-step action for creating a business and being an entrepreneur. TUNEF *IS* the closest step-by-step list to build your own business, be in the Fastlane, and Unscript your life.

From the early chapters about beliefs and biases, to Fastlane Entrepreneurship, Kinetic Execution, and the last chapters about the Money System. The book laid out the game plan on how to escape your job and move from sidewalk/slowlane to the fastlane. Every chapter builds on the next. I even finished the book in 4 days!

UNSCRIPTED is highly recommended read! I'll share it to all people I know, specially those interested in having their own businesses.

I have read unscripted , it is good in the first chapters, however the much you advance in chapter the much you feel the writer doesn't have a solid message , it become just long lecture from the writer about things he think are right or wrong.
Disclaimer : I have read TMFL and that book is really good and give you good perspective, I would say one of them is enough as the ideas are the same but demoed in different way

It’s a little more advanced in the later chapters than you’re realizing. The later chapters discuss a lot of ways to trim fat and focus your efforts. Many of the strategies are taught in business school. I would have saved a lot of time and money had I read this book a few times rather than attending business school.

Overall a good book. This is a much more polished version of TMFL with more anecdotal evidence. I do appreciate the more clear look of a chronological progression.

It's difficult to publish a 2nd book that it's on the same high level as the 1st one. I enjoyed it big time!

Thanks MJ
