Came across this, thought it was pretty smart so figured I'd share...

If you don't wanna click, it's a link using MJ's likeness, and the dude's take on his process he claims anyone can use to prosper.

He uses it in a clever way that's fairly common to marketing savvy Twitter users to grow their audience and increase engagement.

What are my takeaways?

1. Give your take on someone else's work (But be sure to give them credit)
2. Give a useful way to use it that is also your unique take (Your way is a form of exclusivity)
3. Set a deadline (this creates urgency)
4. Penalty (Take too long and you have to pay for this - Plus some form of anchored value)
5. FOMO on great benefits still win on the Interwebs.

There you go. A tried and true, formulaic marketing process.

this looks incredibly sketch.

I bet MJ doesn't like this.

So the dude charges 10X the price of the book he is summarizing?

Nothing "smart" about that
He charges 10x for a SHORTCUT! That s a value skew!

(edith: the offered shortcut seems to be a value skew, while of course it is not!)

I don t know , if X will do anything about it.

27 usd profit, sold 13 items a day
If he uses MJ`s theory, thats possible.
It's usually a promise to sell a lifestyle.

He quotes MJ as the forefather of “online money”.

Doesn’t sound right. But not surprising. When someone sell under your name without consent.

90 days sounds like a standard weight loss program duration.

M. J. DeMarco is the forefather of online money.

He was one of the FIRST to become an online MULTI-millionaire.

His principles are timeless.

In 60h+ I summarized EVERYTHING into a 5-step protocol.

Can get everyone to $13k/m online.

FREE for 33h (then $110) if you:

Follow + Comment 'MJ' + Like

Who wants to bet that "5-step protocol" is just CENTS?

Given that be promises his follower an exact figure monthly I guess he is going to stick to his own modus operandi while saying this is endorsed by MJ’s method.

An exact figure monthly....

I bet that's pulled out of thin air, too.

Using an exact monetary amount (especially of an oddly-specific number, like 13k as opposed to 10k) is a tried and true copywriting tactic used to increase conversions.

The neat thing about it is that you don't have to actually get those results for anybody.

The way it works is this:

- Put in a disclaimer that the course buyer has to do the work to see the results.
- Then, if anybody claims that they didn't get results, just tell them they obviously didn't do the work or follow your system correctly.
- Now you're off the hook.

This is an incredibly common tactic. It works by increasing the believability of your promise.

Scummy? Oh yeah.

But people use it all the time because it works.

Seems very sketchy mate don't promote shitty courses and products that misuse MJ's name in his own forum.

Imo this is a bad move. It’s building MJ’s value instead of this guy’s. If I wanted to build a brand parallel to fastlane, I’d never use the same concepts. Probably I’d use MJ’s concepts as a starting point, make them my own, and then develop it further than MJ ever did.

This is how innovation occurs on an intellectual plane. Then you own the innovation and you market it yourself. It builds your own brand. Someone should follow you because you’re SMARTER & BETTER than MJ. Think about the optics… you’re down here, a retard, and MJ is up there, a towering genius. Is that smart?!

But this guy seems to just want to make a quick buck by prostituting himself online (ie, being 10000th in line re-selling someone else’s content).

If I were to give my take on someone else’s work it would be all about how they are WRONG (so you can follow me, because I’m right).
