Yes, I have continuously posted new topics and threads about my business troubles on this forum, but do you know what? Whether good or bad, each response has given me one more data point to go off of. Part of me doesn't want to post here all the time because my ego tells me to just "do it yourself," but I'd instead learn from people who've made the same mistakes.
Now, I have an online business selling protein boxes as a subscription service. To put it simply, you go to my website, answer a few personal questions (your diet, allergies, activity level, preferences, etc...), and you get recommended a protein box containing ten different supplements and related goodies (you have the option to explore all other boxes outside the recommendation).
I've read, researched, and figured out so much about building the offer and how to market it, but I haven't seen much success in sales. I have the boxes priced at $50 (Alex Hormozi's $100M offers advice to charge such high prices compared to industry competitors and provides insane value). But the thing is, I have been struggling to add more value to my boxes. Yes, you can get ten different protein supplements like bars, snacks, shakes, powders, shaker bottles, lifting straps, etc..., and you can choose what kind of box you want, like a vegan box, snacking box, gym-goer box, and all that. But I can't help but feel like $50 is not justified, not even $40, maybe even $30. Instead of lowering the price and thus lowering my margins negatively, I've been trying to figure out how to add more value for months. My margins are already so low because I can't afford to partner with brands yet, as I have no sales to back it up. My idea was to prove sales first, then buy in bulk to set margins back at a reasonable level, but I can't even get to that point.
My point with all this is, how niche do I go? I currently target anyone who supplements proteins through powders, bars, etc... (yes, I know, it's very broad). However, I felt I could niche down by offering personalization with certain boxes appealing to all types of people.
I've thought about niching more down to only target "skinny males" as I once was that skinny male. I've gone through the whole process of being skinny and unhappy, building a decent physique, and being much more confident with how I look through eating more, consuming a healthier diet, and working out. What if I niched down so specifically to skinny males, for example, to help them transform as I know how much of a struggle it is for many people out there (I have additional knowledge people have the issue because I work part-time at a GNC and help people out all the time with that sort of stuff).
Sorry for the long post, any help, advice or general thoughts (good or needed) are welcome!
