Has anyone here created a course on UDEMY?

I was just curious if anyone here had ever created a course on Udemy - Online Courses from the World's Experts
Seems to me if one is an expert in their field that it could be an additional income stream.
A few of there business/tech courses seemed interesting...

I agree. This looks like another pretty decent income stream.

I have a course I created with a friend that we may list with udemy. First we have to update it a bit (about a day's work) and then modify it slightly for the udemy audience. I believe if someone signs up to your course thru your own referral link, you keep 85% of the fee. If the signup comes from udemy's marketing efforts you keep 70%.

Thinking about CENTS, with Udemy, you dont get Control on the price right? I agree they have a marketplace but they set the price if i am not mistaken.

You could technically use it as lead gen/credibility to lead into your bigger programs on your own website.

I think there is very few people that really kill it on Udemy but im sure there are plenty of people make $500-5000/mo.

Interesting. Didn't know that they would allow marketing through courses. Is this direct like - "For a more advanced stuff visit .." Or with watermarks in video or directing them to the website for downloads etc?

They do not set the price. They give you a range of options to choose from if you are part of their marketing programs, and a few times per month they discount the courses and run promotions. If you do not opt into their promotion system then your options are much more open with regard to pricing and discounts.

The amount you earn from Udemy's promotions is lower than 70%. It usually ranges from 50% all the way down to 25%. The amount you earn from your own promotions for people you bring to their platform is 97%.

Skillshare everyone seems to sleep on........ but yet it is by far my biggest revenue generator right now and is growing with no input from me.

I would do both.

Control isn't always about having complete control all the time but mitigation of control risk.

For example I rely just on udemy.

I have courses on 4 different third party platforms and one that I self host not so much control risk is there?
