Ive been an on/off member of this forum for several years. A bit of background about me:
- 27 year old Investment banker in London. Always wanted to do it if I didn't make it as a footballer (soccer player). Started working for a tier 1 investment bank straight out of uni....now earning very low 6-figures annually.
- After 1st year on the job, knew it wasn't for me...selling my soul 10/11 hours a day without fulfilment, office politics...not a good tradeoff for me.
- Read MJs book and was so fascinated I literally begun counting down to when I would leave the slowlane.
- I quit my job a year ago to find myself and try new things out but the firm hired me back straight away and gave me a 5-month paid sabbatical.
- Ive half-heartedly ventured into a few side projects, from talent management i.e being a sports agent and music manager to a bit of e-commerce which didn't work out due to covid incurred costs.
- Ive been focusing on crypto for over a year now and also learning a bit of web design; shout out Fox Web School!
Recently had a basic idea which would have legs if executed correctly, was hoping for some constructive criticism or guidance:
There is a product in a growing industry which is going for approx £400 a pop, it is in heavy demand and I have also purchased one. The big problem though is the delivery time - It takes around 6 months to arrive!!!!! Which is crazy.
I want to engage in a wholesale/distribution agreement with the company/manufacturer to sell their product locally.
1. Does anybody have any experience in such a venture?
2. Any ideas on best practice when reaching out to the company/how to reach out?
3. Anything I need to be wary of?
Totally understand Im diving in so you guys can be as brutally honest as possible but any help would be much appreciated!

- I have no wholesale/distribution experience besides my failed e-commerce venture
- I am still mapping out the structure of the company as to decide who I should reach out to.
- I am super positive the product will sell well locally and customers will benefit from the lower lead/delivery times
- I am quite confident I can shore up capital to get started (assuming its not too much more than £100k)
- The company isnt a small company, I would assume annual revenue around the 8/9 figure mark
