Well let me introduce myself.

I'm Duane94.
I have no job.
I have no college degree.
I have no money.
I have never had a job.
And I'm 21 years old.

I have been Jobless since I finished school in 2011. I attended one year of plc/community college in 2014/2015 and nearly dropped out due to crippling anxiety that kept me from leaving my house for literally 2 full weeks. I ccould not even get myself to leave the house to go to the shop thst is literally across the road from where I live. I didn't sit my college exams so I have no recognisable skills from that either. I want a good life and am willing to do whatever it takes to get there but I have no idea how to get there. I am literally clueless. I don't give a shit about owning ferrari's or asking your opinions on which colour I should get. All I want is a life worth living. I am reading the millionaire fastlane and it's making me feel worse like I haven't got what it takes to be even somewhat successful .What do I do to get out of this mess I'm in ?

Don't have a job? Go get one then.
No college degree? You don't really NEED one to be successful.
No money? Go make some.
You're 21? Well you have plenty of time.

You have to get up and forget the past. Go to the gym, eat healthy, be the best version of YOU. No one can make you change, people can guide you, but ultimately it's YOU that has to say, this is enough! You say you are willing to do whatever it takes, well prove it.

I remember thinking like you, there must be some "magic" formula to be successful. Let me tell you, there is no magic. Hardwork, perseverance and not giving up, ever. That's being successful.

You may or may not find what you are looking for here. The best entrepreneurs have some life experience to draw from. My kids are about your age, and my encouragement to them is to go out into the world, experience what life is like out there, and then draw from that to determine how to chart their future. Usually, you don't just start life as a rock star entrepreneur.

If I were you, I would go get a job. Go to work. You're not in a mess. You are just beginning life.

You are not going to unlock the secrets to a life worth living by reading the Millionaire Fast Lane. It will be useful to you down the road, but the first step is for you to go out into life and get started.

Here's an example of why this forum isn't going to be able to help you right now. You're reading a different thread called "22 books to read before you quit your job." You don't have a job. Reading books is not going to help you. I've read them all. What you are looking for isn't found in a book.

Get a job. Take a positive life step. Find a community you can fit into. Get active in a local church group. Find a job counselor, at an agency such as http://www.dol.gov/dol/topic/training/onestop.htm

Then, at some point, you would be able to take everything you learned and apply it towards something longer term. You have to take baby steps before you take success steps. This forum isn't going to be the place you find your traction.

Good luck to you!

You need to deal with your anxiety. That shit will def. not help you in having a life worth living.

See a doctor or join a group of people going through something similar and find out what they do to cope.

May I suggest you check out meetup.com

Who knows maybe you'll find another guy with anxiety that wants to get into business that you can build a master mind group with :)

Good luck to ya.

Wow. What a great intro. I've never seen one start like that.

You sucked me in and I moved from one bullet point to the next to the next.

I actually thought this was going to be some copywriting expert about to hit me with a punchline and then try to sell me something.

My ban hammer was at the ready.

The punchline I was expecting was

"And I am happy."

Then I was expecting you to explain how being young, having no job, having no money to fund a business startup, and having no college degree, meant you were free to move fast and help people.

I expected that was why you never had a job in your life.

Then you were going to sell me your blueprint on how I too could achieve your level of success for a one time payment of $97.

Seriously, I thought that was where the post was going.

Well done on your copy writing skills.

Well done on being at the beginnings of a great story.

I look forward to hearing how you overcome your critical anxiety (seeking professional help I trust).

And I look forward to hearing how you turn all those advantages into a positive next step and move forward towards the life you want.

Welcome to the forum Duane. Tell us what you do next to make use of this wonderful gift of time on this planet.

Start kicking your a$$.. one small steps at a time to build your confidence. along the way you'll find an opportunity.

The dumbest thing I did but effective and easiest to do here:
ALWAYS make sure to fix your bed early when you wake up...that is your first accomplishment of the day,,, should you have a bad day, at lease you still have a nice bed to sleep with... I learned it from "from a navy general that inspires me"

I would say the same thing, learn about anxiety and fear, and how to regulate your emotions, thoughts, and feelings. And yes, I would say a part time job for starters will help you get past the anxiety and fears, and than expand to full time. And yes, you're just beginning. Give yourself time to learn how things work, and yes, M.J.'s book should be a good start for Entrepreneurship. Hang out with positive people, like minded people, and who inspire you to succeed and you will get there. Don't use the book as a measuring tool for your life, it's a goal to be reached and achieved. It's your perception, thoughts, and the way you see the world that helps you see if from clearer perspective. Learn something new every day about something that interests you in entrepreneurship, self-discovery, or many other topics.

If I were you, I would go get a job. Go to work.

First you need to handle your survival needs. Forget about the "dream" right now. So get a job. If you get some kind of cashier job you'll be forced to interact with hundreds of people on the daily. This might fix your anxiety as well. You can totally screw up on one person and they will be pissed and a minute later you have a brand new human interaction.

For me I took the entrepreneur route. I started with $0.00 and a excel spread sheet. Started clicking ads for pennies. Then went on to do surveys online. Now I buy and sell on Craigslist and trade currencies. To be quite honest, its not worth it. Your better off getting a job when starting. Otherwise you have to work 10x harder to make 10x less. You won't have enough money for survival and almost no chance in funding your "dreams'.

nearly dropped out due to crippling anxiety that kept me from leaving my house for literally 2 full weeks.

I can relate. I nearly dropped out of community college because of my anxiety too. But I stuck with it and now I am two classes away from my associate degree!

You need to get out of your comfort zone, at least you are still very young, and having a health body. Trying being 30 with a bad back, even with a degree I can't work. We are also living in an age that is more peaceful than ever and creative tasks are being able to do with the average Joe every day.

It takes courage to be so honest and I'm glad you decided to post here and seek out help.

I haven't posted here much but I've been reading the forums for almost a year, and to echo some great advice from some of the most successful members here: success isn't some "huge" event -it's a bunch of small wins that add up to something big. You can start getting small wins every day, and gradually they'll add up.

Maybe your first win is posting to this forum, and reading MJ's book (which by the way means you have more resources than billions of others out there already). Your second could be going to the shop for 5 mins, or talking to a stranger, and so on ...

From reading your post I can also see that your self esteem (or self-compassion if you prefer) needs some help. Often our biggest obstacles are really ourselves, and a book that really helped in my own life can be found here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1572241985/?tag=tff-amazonparser-20

Btw, it shows from the action you've already taken by posting here (and I agree with @Andy Black pointing out your copy skills), you've got potential. :)

Start taking probiotics /Yogurt, fish oil and avoid sugar, alcohol and caffeine. This should give your gut flora a good boost. Your anxiety is probably caused by poor Gut flora. Check out podcasts with Dr Natasha mcbride and Google the GAPS diet. Also read a book called "Potatoes not Prozac". This takes care of your chemicals and anxiety problem.

Next, get a job in sales. No experience or education required. Read all the books you can on sales and closing. I like Grant Cardone's books.

After that start thinking about product ideas. Just thinking. Brainstorm at least 10 product ideas every day. Write them down no matter how dumb they are. During this brainstorming you will draw a blank, this is the time to keep thinking. This effort is causing growth. Improving creativity.

Next start reading biographies and autobiographies of people you admire. Imagine Yourself in their position. Make their stories a part of you. You can learn a concept like "be persistent" , but it won't help much. Better to read a story about someone who failed 50 times and then succeeded in the end. Then you can Identify with him.

In the end, If you can create a product or service and sell it you can make money.

Keep an eye out for demand.

Make a deal with yourself not to watch TV, movies or netflix until you have reached your goal.

Workout in the morning. Even 5 mins every day.

Listen to Audiobooks if you don't like reading.

Hope this helps.
Doug

Fiverr! lol, no really I'm in the same position as you, but whatever you do, don't wait for gold to fall from the sky! Not gonna happen.
I can vote on +1 on getting out of comfort zone. It did wonders when I applied it last year, now I can say during new years eve I did not wasted that year.

If your social anxiety is so severe that you cannot leave the house, therapy is in order. There are even some free resources available depending on where you live. Have your blood levels checked IMMEDIATELY(specifically D, B12, Iron, B6, etc...) and find out if you have any vitamin/mineral deficiencies and buy quality supplements to increase your levels.

Nutrient deficiencies can greatly affect mood/brain function and overall health. If you haven't been out of the house in a while, I would bet money that you have low VItamin D(the sunshine vitamin) levels. Get on a high quality Vitamin D3 supplement(cholecalciferol). Low D affects mood/brain function and the entire central nervous system, so low D could be contributing to your current condition.

If the blood test confirms low D, the doctor will likely prescribe ergocalciferol synthetic vitamin D2 50,000 IUs(don't take synthetic D)! Take Cholecalciferol which you will likely have to buy yourself because most docs won't prescribe it even though natural cholecalciferol absorbs at a higher rate(research it). You can buy 10,000 IUs and take two day until your levels are normal. Then move to 5,000 IUs long term.

Eat a clean, whole foods diet and avoid highly processed foods and fast foods. Eat wild salmon or other wild caught fish at least twice a week. Take daily Cod Liver oil supplements(Sonne brand) -mix it in a smoothie. You will notice an improvement in mental clarity within a month or two on daily supplementation.

If you have the inclination, research Lojong Mind training. It's a Tibetan Buddhist practice, but you don't have to be a Buddhist to learn from it.

We all need physical human contact/interaction. Gradually, force yourself to get out of the house. Volunteer at a pet shelter, hospital, senior home, etc...any place where you can get out of your own way and help others. The volunteer experience will prep you for finding a job and from there figure out your next steps.

Of course, I have to add that you should check with your doctor before taking medical advice, as I am not a professional MD...but do your own research as well and don't be afraid to question the doctor's opinion or get a second opinion. Better yet, see a naturopath.

I want a good life and am willing to do whatever it takes to get there

I've found that people who say this aren't generally interested in doing "whatever it takes", but are willing to do whatever falls within their range of comfort. That turns out to be not much.

However, based on the information you provided, I'd speculate your issues are medically oriented. I'd start there. @ToniLene 's post above is a good place to start, personally, I'd look into a possible Vitamin-D deficiency. It's hard to solve the needs of the world when you refuse to engage the world.

Also, can you please respond to some of the comments here in this thread? Many people have taken time out of their day to give you their thoughts. Thanks, good luck, and welcome to the forum.

I'm going to recommend you look at the posts by @GrumpyCat and @biophase.

Also, @SinisterLex: https://www.thefastlaneforum.com/co...edback-no-portfolio.58837/page-24#post-491601

And, as many have mentioned, get that anxiety taken care of. It's going to hamper you no matter what.

Ok folks, here's a little update from my original post. I have been seeking counselling for about a year and a half over my anxiety. I am able to leave the house again I just could not leave for them 2 full weeks that I described in my original post. That crippling anxiety attack happened during the end of November last year but it did take me months to get back to a good enough functioning state and yes I still have anxiety but I'm managing it a little bit better. I am extremely grateful for all of the people who have taken the time to help me out here and I have also been getting private messages from others which are full of great advice and I thank you all for that. I would like to say a specific thank you to a few people that have shared advice that really hit me and made me understand some things, those people are @Elite @Vigilante @Andy Black @P3HSB @Luna878 and @MJ DeMarco .Thank you. One more thing I would I would also like to say is @MJ DeMarco I don't know whether you have experienced an anxiety disorder first hand but I have been pushing myself to get back to good mental health for almost 2 years now and one thing I know about dealing with anxiety is I can't afford to have a range of comfort, because if I did have I would still be stuck in my house since November of last year. I learned a lot about anxiety and a lot about false 'limits' in the past year. And I'm on this forum to learn a lot more than what I know already. Thank you everyone for the great advice I appreciate it all so much.

Do something. Anything! Doesn't matter what it is. Gotta get some psychological wins under the belt. Start earning, get some routine in your life, then figure things out.

(You can get that done tomorrow by the way, sooner if you know someone that needs a guy).

Get a job first. You have to start somewhere. Our lives are not perfect and you don't need things to make you happy, just focus on building your future everyday.

Welcome!

It's going to be hard to get a job if you can't leave the house. The anxiety needs attention first, IMO.

Speaking as someone who treats anxiety disorders (my slow-lane business), I would recommend professional treatment if possible, i.e. a psychiatrist or licensed therapist with experience treating anxiety disorders. Several medical conditions can cause or exacerbate anxiety. But more importantly, when people people try to go it alone, they tend to rely on coping skills that provide short-term relief but serve to reinforce anxiety over the long-term. Exposure to the thing producing the anxiety is, counter-intuitively, the remedy.

Thank you for your advice, I have been seeing a therapist and could only not leave the house for a 2 week period that I described which happened last November. I am functioning pretty good at the moment in relation to my anxiety and have been able to leave my house again for almost a year now. Thanks for taking the time out to help me though, I appreciate it a lot.

at least you are still very young, and having a health body. Trying being 30 with a bad back, even with a degree I can't work.

35 here, no degree, thick foreign accent, heart issues (physical, not romantic), with family of three, and laid off at 33.
Got a decent job in a completely different field (government), enrolled in three classes, went back to martial arts, hustling to gain credibility, met an insane amount of people in the last few months, including millionaires, senators and representative, mayors etc., joined boards, became active in several things that I would've never even thought of if I hadn't been laid off.
Are things good? Not at all, I am still far from the objective, and the wallet is still weeping while I am still hustling. But don't tell me that you "can't work". You can.

What do I do to get out of this mess I'm in ?

Only one suggestion. Don't expect to find your solution on a forum, or in a book, or in any "get rich" program. Use those tools, by all means, but don't expect THE solution. And read, read, read, read, read (non-fiction; if you really need fiction, read short stories before bedtime).

Maybe getting a job is not easy with severe anxiety. You can make money online so that you dont end up completely bankrupt and in the meantime work on your problems. One bite at a time, focus on the next step only.

No I mean I literally can't, I have trouble sitting for more than 30 min at a time, staying in bed to rest my back for most of the day and seeing my chiro twice a week. I had a fusion surgery this summer and the recovery is very slow, but instead of laying in bed and watch tv (Which is what I would have done if I have not discovered this forum before), I have been reading books about technology and business (Which happens to be in my degree field). Still reading right now and felt that I have gained more insights on how the world ACTUALLY works in 4 month than what I learn in 4 years in college. College did taught me how to critically think, but it certainly didn't teach me how the world actually works.

welcome bro :)

in regards to the anxiety... im speaking from experience...

do mindful meditation.

im not exactly a hippie, but man does that shit work

Regarding anxiety and other things that hamstring a person:

Reject your sense of injury and the injury itself disappears.

meditate on that until you accept it and move forward.
