Hi everyone,

Many of you here are accomplished and experienced in both business and life.

A short question:
If you could only teach 2 business lessons to your child(ren) and nothing more, what would you choose to share with them?
Adversity Quotient and Critical Thinking are two important area.

I don’t know how it can be “taught” though. It’s a long journey to develop the two traits.

Internet, modern consumer culture and comfort tend to get young kids to grow up getting what they want easily.

That’s not a recipe for building resilience.

Thanks for sharing @Kevin88660 !

This is the advice I'd give to my kids now if they wanted to get started in business:

1) Just start.
You already have skills and knowledge, such as what makes a good YouTube video and how to do video editing. Don't worry about the other stuff. Find someone who'll pay for what you can already do (online) or can pick up quickly.

2) Sell a service first.
Get paid to get better at a skill. Don't pick something where you have to spend money first, as you don't have much money. Don't worry about not being able to scale massively initially. Get good. Get paid. Then figure out how to scale.

Getting the first payment for work you did will be eye-opening.

Love it @Andy Black!

1. The trinity of business is bookkeeping, sales, and your product/service: you will NEVER master all three so find ppl who will help you.
