Hi everyone,

I've been on the forum for quite some time and have a few things going on but I am working on something new I wanted to share.
I have been a cryptocurrency investor for many years now, I can talk about it for days, so I thought I my swell start a youtube channel on the topic.

This is it here:

I haven't really shared this with many people. I know youtube is extremely competitive and a very ''sexy'' business which is going to make this extremely difficult, but nothing else really interests me right now.

I want to post at least one video a week but have been posting more than that as it's just so happened to work out that way so far.

It is clear to me that having great thumbnails and watch time is really the key to having success on youtube, so I want to work on my production quality and thumbnails moving forward. They have improved already but it has to get better if I am to have any success here.
This is the newest video if anyone wants to check it out and pass on some feedback that would be cool

Hey two things I think would help a lot...

A "pop guard" for your audio > it takes the spikes out of the audio and makes it sound a lot more professional. I am quite sure you aren't using one since I can hear it spiking. If you are you voice is too close to the mic when you are recoding.

The second is if you can show yourself on camera. A big part of a Crypto channel is the person who goes with the advice and I think that is going to help your growth a lot. Having the same set up with showing the articles as you show yourself reading is going to make it a lot more personal.

Either way though good job and nice start - channel looks solid already!

(I actually thought the video you linked above was from another established channel at first - you are doing well)

Thanks for the feedback buddy.

I definitely noticed the audio issue myself, but thanks for the tip on how to fix it!

Have a good day everyone, I will keep this thread updated periodically.
There's a number of things that influence rankings on YT including those that you highlighted.

I noticed that you're not using tags, keywords aren't in the description and you haven't promoted it on social media.

YT will improve your rankings based on how many links and embeds your videos have. It specifically looks for how many people you send to YT, how long they remain on the website and regardless of where the visitor comes from, be it YT or external, it looks for if your video is the last video viewed.

In other words, if your video makes people leave YT then you get lower rankings.

There's other things like chapters, keyword density used in the video (including those used within the first 20-seconds) and many other factors including how popular your channel is.

There's a couple of really good tools for your channel including VidIQ and TubeBuddy. Well worth a look.

Also, spend time watching top ranking videos and take notes on their structure.

For example this video is very different to your's:
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRZZ5VH8F6M

If you're using one of the extensions I listed above, then you'll also be able to see the keywords he's focused on.

Another important thing is to create content on what people want. This video covers a content checklist that also applies to content on YT.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuJ4V3RWtMU

For example, is the topic trending, what's trending about the topic, traffic volume etc.

Slowly you'll begin to see a difference long as you remain consistent with uploading content and creating playlists.

Hope this helps!

I have paid for a subscription to tube buddy.
I didn't give much thought to keywords or tags up until this point.
I have changed things on the previous video regarding keywords and tagging, but I will not stress much about what has been done in the past and improve that in the future.

I will emphasize using keywords in my title and description moving forward but making sure that it still sounds natural.

Also do research on what people are looking for including how competitive it is.

Started to make myself a list of keywords to use today.

I'll keep trying to find more that are even better.

Quite happy with this one.
Still trying to find the appropriate format that I will use as the channel grows.

One of the benefits of being small is I can try new things, stuff up etc and no one will know as no one will watch!

Cool stuff. I'm in love with crypto right now and I will be checking you out. Just followed you.

I started a YouTube mining channel recently, just recording me tinkering with cards and what I am doing and throwing it up. Figured I would help a few people out with any mining issues they had, as I ran into a ton of strange issues and had to troubleshoot much of it myself.

I am taking the complete opposite approach compared to you. Mine is 100% crap so far haha. If this is something I want to keep doing I'll work on improving it and finding ways to work YouTube.

The secret to growth…is to talk abt dogecoin. 80 percent of views are from that.

Here's a strategy that might give you fast growth with time:

1. Look for channels that have below 10,000 subs in your niche.
2. Go to their videos section and sort by (most popular).
3. Cherry pick the ones you can replicate and add more value.
4. Replicate them but make yours better.
5. Use same keywords they used in title and desc. (Just add a few words to yours).

Hope this helps. Nice channel by the way

I tried to add chapters so someone can easily flick through to find out what they want to find out or keep up to date with. Not sure if it worked, doesn't appear to have on my end.

I am trying to target keywords with the closest to 100/100 rating as I can. The closer the keyword is to 100/100 the less competition it has.

I have noticed that the level of competition for each keyword changes every few days which I found strange.

I am getting a subscriber every so often.
I expect this to take quite a bit of time.
The next video is out.

I think that will be it for a week.

I will analyze the data and watch time throughout all videos so far and see what can be improved.

Things that come to mind is adding after effects to parts of the videos and using dot points throughout as I speak to expand on things more also.

The after effects will make it a bit more interesting than people just watching me read for 10 minutes or so.

Great work so far! I am watching a couple of different vids and I see the progress in your audio which is vital, especially since you're not showing your face. If you need help with audio let me know, this is what I do for a living.

One suggestion, you are getting alot of "plosives" which is just a fancy word for hard sounding consonants that thump the mic with sound waves. P's and B's are usually the main two that cause the problem and make that low end distortion like sound. You can try rolling off the bass freq. around 150Hz or put a "High Pass" filter on all your audio which allows the high freqs to pass thru while cutting the lows you do not need for dialogue. That should clear up most of them and make your audio a bit smoother all around.

This would take me 3 minutes to do, so shoot me a message if you want some help with it. I'de be more than happy to.

Good Luck!

Subtitles or closed captioning for the hard of hearing. Not enough people do it, so it's still a way to differentiate your channel.

I am targeting a few keywords only right now. I don't know how much of an impact that will have, but I assume it is better than just adding 100 keywords into the tags section and not ranking for them.

My friend who has about 60,000 subscribers on youtube said to give it at least 20 videos to see how it goes as you can explode out of know here as we have already seen with a young bloke on this forum @Valier

One tool I really would recommend (other than TubeBuddy and / or VidIQ) is MorningFame (google it, don't want to post a link here). It gives you some good insights - based on a root keyword - which topics you might want to cover. And it takes into consideration your competitors subs, comments, views PLUS helps you to draft good meta info (desc, tags etc.)

It's a little bit more on the pricey site, coming at $120 annually if you want to use the kw functionality (which is basically its core).

For me it worked wonders and helped me to grow my channel faster.
