It sounds like a paradox. If your chances of success increase the harder it is, doesn’t that mean it’s easier to be successful if it’s harder?

Likewise the converse says it’s harder to become successful the easier it is.

A good example that would fit into the Russell-Zermelo paradox. Contradictory but consistent within the set.
Haha, i like it, but no!

I didn't replace hard with easy!! I replaced it fun.

It is not a question of knowing whether chances of success increase or not. It is a way to estimate how much fun I am going to have doing it.

It actually isn't paradox - the increase of chances means that it everybody will try and many will succeed.

If something is hard a) not many people will try b) out of those who try not many will succeed.

So for example if You're into programming Operating System, you basically deal with Windows, macOs and Linux - 3 competitors.

If you're into fidget spinners (for lack of better example) you're competing with 1000's of others.

Apparently, Kleenex and Tork are important body parts, how could we live without them.

I think this dude had me look up more words in one day than the entirety of my 2020 reading and online interactions. Almost gave me a case of sesquipedalophobia.
Thats true 😀
I'm still waiting for "TL;DR" from him.

Solved it!
Cyberthal is posting GPT-3 (artificial intelligence software that writes anything) posts :P!
Moldbug is only the latest heretic to successfully use obfuscated diction to lose inquisitors and bypass resistance to persuasion. You won't catch this nick writing heretical tl;drs. Software developers are gentle folk, easily startled.

Any sufficiently advanced intelligence is indistinguishable from inanity. There's a price for speaking plainly.

An accessible summary of a theory that Pelosi aims for interim president to further the Great Reset, a once-in-a-lifetime fire sale on global assets over which multi-generational banker bandits must salivate. Not safe for Reddit.

Remember how MJ said something about planning to sell apples but ending up with an orange slice factory? Well, you know what I mean. Anyway. My situation has improved a lot.

- I found something I can do freelance and get paid for 60-150€ an hour. I'll probably discuss what it is at a later time. 700€ on a weekend has been my record, so far. But customer acquisition is not easy, I've gotten my customers through Facebook, for now. I'm thinking of ways to change that. This is where SEO comes into play. It's something I haven't done before (commercially) and I didn't know there was actually such a demand for it that I can command these prices.
- Through happenstance, I met someone on Twitter who would do all the stuff I'm not licensed for, yet, because the government still sleeps. Splitting profit, though. That goes against the command of control, big time. But still better than not moving forward.
- Seems like that dreadful job will allow me to switch to part-time at better pay. But since one of the most important lessons in business I learned is "only dry ink counts", I won't celebrate, yet.

Anyway, the bills for the veterinarian stack up fast. Also, I'm still drained of energy. The winter lockdown isn't good for my mental health, and I currently have a hard time staying sober. Therefore I'm slowing down a bit, because should I relapse, _everything_ is at stake.

''The great reset'' This is real, and Trudeau has openly talked about it

There was some tinfoil hat conspiracy theory about further restricting travel and making vaccines mandatory here in Canada, one business owner was hauled off to jail for going against flu laws, also Mr Justin has praised China in the past of their dictatorships..

Scary times, just a few days ago some teen girl got her a$$ kicked by Vancouver police for not wearing a mask... 2 fully grown men abusing a small girl what a world we live in.

And Biden.....oh jeez 2021 might even be worse

Hey,

Would you help me? I would be happy to return the favor if you need something else in exchange, now, or in the future.

I have been working on a website where I sell a digital product related to online dating and Tinder.

I just need an opinion on the copy that I have written. That's it. I'm looking for someone who can tell me "it's good"; "it's bad"; "change this".

If you wanna help out, just like the post and I'll drop the URL in private.

Thx : )

PS: In my culture, we don't ask for help, so I'm really out of my comfort zone here, which is why the message may appear awkward.

Jamie Dimon has never discovered a virtue signal that he doesn't love. He irritates me.

I get that question a lot. The answer depends on who's asking.

If it's the PhDs critiquing my work, I tell them I'm the world's first cognitive cyborg. Treefactor's next demo will involve playing AI Dungeon, and feature exciting production values such as audio commentary.

If it's my tyke, the answer is, "NO I AM NOT A ROBOT, ARE YOU A ROBOT?" to ruthless tickling.

Speaking of intelligence, it's not intelligent to challenge military intelligence:

Everyone is talking about Caesar, but Sulla came first.

I understand that people are going through tough times right now, unemployment is sky high, and people are having trouble paying rent. There should be options to help people because we shouldn't just throw people onto the streets.

But where in the hell did the idea landlords are evil and that people owning homes should not expect others to pay for somebody else's mortgage come from? What is all this #CancelRent?

If people don't want to pay for somebody else's mortgage then those people should purchase their own homes. Can't afford to buy your own home? Is that a good reason to start hating landlords?

Hey @mon_fi , I see you're in Brussels, not sure which language you're using for your product but if you need a French speaker just let me know. I'll be glad to help.

exactly. The people they should hate are the policymakers. The landlords are the ones who actually take the risk and maintain homes so people don't have to live on the streets, under bridges, or in sewers.

The idea has been popular for 1000s of years... it takes a pretty juvenile mind to entertain the idea with any seriousness.

Maybe ask people that think its a good idea if they are willing to work for free

What is all this #CancelRent
It's a product of OSP (One Stupid President).
That president moved masses by showing that being dumb is something worthy and powerful.
So they used a sum of all their brains and figured out that 1+1=2 so if there is president who can do anything dumb so can they.

Now i have even greater idea:
#CancelEverything

I mean ,like, cancel the need to pay for anything.
Instead of those pesky landlords let's have pesky everyone.
Like:
"You pesky neighbor, how dare you have savings! I'm coming after you boi!"

Since there is #CancelEverything there also will be forced #WorkForFree
but 1+1=2 minds won't grasp it until it's them who will be doing the free work.

I wonder if there will be "To Be Continued".

Hatred for landlords is a perennial feature of the historical cycle. Non-primitive societies have two competing feedback systems: tribal-genetic and capitalist-oligarchic. The latter tends to oppress the former until the former kills the latter. Competence in warfare is just as much a valid thermodynamic metric as competence in business, so this cannot be regarded as entirely illegitimate.

Balancing the two forces is difficult. The Spartan system used iron for money and permanently enslaved the Helots. The Old Testament Law bound rural land to patrilineages, limited debt slavery, and held jubilees. The modern system alternates between right and left wing governments, constitutionally or otherwise.

Nominally-capitalist oligarchic forces drive atomized Millennials and Gen-Z to desperation. Negative affect pervades society like vapor permeating a oil tanker before a thermobaric blast.

The solution is obvious: We need more corporate motivational posters!

Dayum. Makes me feel my vocabulary is basic at best.

Have been telling my 3 musketeers friends for a year now. They are ready to read now that they have felt an FTE and have seen my progress in breaking through the script, I just bought 2 books for them 😀.

Let's pray (:p) they also get out of the script.

Misery is spending a fortune on a towering cat condo complete with ladders, landings, and cubby holes, spending an hour putting it together only to find out that your finicky cats like the CARDBOARD BOX it came in better.

DAMN CATS!

Super random, but has anyone read about this famous Spanish galleon shipwreck before?

Treasure on the ship is worth an estimated $17 billion!!

I guess the pirate movies and games were right: those spanish galleons really were carrying quite the haul.

The scale of wealth on that one little ship really redefines what's possible IMO. If one ship had billions on it, why can't you or I make a measly couple million this year? ;)

Yep.

I put together a chair a few weeks ago.

I didn’t realise the box was more comfy for watching cartoons...
