Our families 'compound' hidden away deep in the Ozark's hills. 10 miles off the beaten path.
160 beautiful acres almost off the grid. Finally decided to bring in internet 'just in case'. Wild turkey and deer feed down by the year-round creek. Built the cabin last year, and planning on spending more out there during this trying time.
All built on the principles of 'owe no man nothing'

After reading some of the posts on NextDoor.com in my local community, I'm ready to go live in a cave.

People are F*cking idiots.

Just a sampling...

  • "Where are the FEMA tents with FREE water?"
  • "My son is traumatized because no one will play with him, what's wrong with parents?" (You mean, parents who enforce the CDC guidelines dumbass?)
  • "The local Safeway didn't deliver my groceries in the allotted time it said on the website, so I asked for a refund. When I didn't get it in 1 hour, I called the police."
And here I thought I was avoiding the idiots by avoiding Facebook. Turns out, I just need to avoid people.

Next Door is the cave where all the trolls congregate to make us question the evolution of the species. I got on there a year or two ago to see what was up (and potential marketing) & noped the F*ck out of there so fast.
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Edit to add photo of yesterday evening (our backyard landscaping isn't done yet so this was our makeshift fire pit, haha).

My sister-in-law, a nurse was harassed for wearing her scrubs on the way to work. I'm always amazed at the idiocy, but I guess I should expect it by now.

Today is a banner day! I get to go pick up a script from CVS, grocery pick-up from Walmart, then slide through Costco for crap we get over there. Followed by 110 degree shower with Phisoderm.

This is Via del Corso, today at 6pm: it's one of the busiest shopping streets in Rome: think of a smaller Oxford street in London or the fifth in New York...

It may just be your local group? I just joined nextdoor because a neighbor said there was a lot of activity on there with people showing up for each other, teenagers volunteering to run errands for seniors, etc.

This is just one example of the posts I'm seeing...

Where did you get these cars? Are these those accurate-to-scale expensive types or just the normal diecast / Mattel types? I'm thinking of buying a Pagani, one of those ones found on Aliexpress, to display on my desk like you lol

Local gas station, just 10 bucks, normal diecast types, they have realistic interior and everything, to bad I can't fit inside, would probably just sleep inside it and make vroom vroom noises all day.

My FB friends have already seen these. I began virtual teaching Thursday. So I plan to wear a different hat or wig each day until this stops. Began with parrot Mohawk and tried the banana hat today. May 22 can't get here fast enough.

Damn, I'm going to buy that Pagani and post it in my execution thread next month when I get my salary. I guess having stuff like this will help to inspire me lol

What's the idea behind these hats? Does it have a hidden meaning (mocking Trump? lol) or is it just to get more views?

The hats are for attention for my students. I have been doing this about 15 years. I approach teaching as theater arts and these are part of my props. I usually wear Hawaiian shirts and I have a tie die lab coat. The hats are a random surprise. The changes I make alter the students' frame of mind. Instead of having to come to class, they want to come to class. They want to see what's going to happen next. I can spend my efforts on making the class edgy and exciting or I can spend my time on discipline.

I'll fulfill every stereotype about Italians and post a home made pizza here.
It's one of the nice stay-at-home bonuses.

As a Canadian, yes I'm judging, not the greatest pizza I've seen..

I went out for a hike today. Wow I am lucky to live in the greatest country in the world. Some of the cleanest water in the world, and air. (I live up in the mountains)

IMG_0316.JPG

Being in the city makes me miserable, second hand smoke really irritates me alot. And the whole rush of things. Car honking etc etc.

I really feel better up in the woods. It's almost like a detox for the brain.

To think, A $100 bill is completely useless in the forest in the event a bear wants to have a quick chat, the most important things really are food, water, shelter & health.

And bear spray. There's no CoronaVirus in the woods!

Guys, kinda off topic but this is driving me nuts. Can someone hear me out for 5 minutes. Some of you know my story but to those who don’t:

I’m 25. Graduated with a BSc in Biomedical Science in hopes of becoming a doctor.

Rejected from medical school 2 times. Didn’t care.

I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart. Several businesses from 16 years old.

Anyways, got a corporate job. Started a business around the same time. 1.5 years later, quit job as my businesses was far exceeding my salary, and the time I needed to dedicate to the business was overlapped by my job. I was answering business emails during work.

Anyways, my business is generating over $800k in revenue now (projection for this year). It did $400k in its first year. I’m paying my parents’ mortgage on a $1million dollar home.

With all that said, something negative happened today for my business and the first thing out of the mouth of those around me “I told you to keep your job”. “This is why I tell you to get a real job. “You need benefits, you wentto school.” “Why did you go to university”? “Business on the side, job first”.

Can someone explain to me who’s wrong because I clearly don’t see how that makes sense. Who’s mindset is wrong guys? This is driving me nuts. Is this what entrepreneurs have to deal with from immediate family?

I’m really sorry for the rant guys but stuff like this kills my mood.
