Couple of things for me at least..

1. The backlink(s)
2. The brand exposure in exposing my SaaS to digital marketers and entrepreneurs.
3. Get some direct traffic/signups from it.
4. A lot of writers/bloggers/etc find us on it and we might be featured later in some 3rd party article

I used PH for GradeMyBusinessIdea.com -- was actually quite disappointed in the exposure considering the product is entirely 100% free to use. The listing doesn't even come up on a search and when I listed it originally, it never even appeared in any feeds. It was almost as if the listing was shadowbanned.

Yeah, I am having a similar problem as well with the "shadow" of my product having more votes than some of the lowest ones today that are showing.

When I did this years ago for SERPWoo, it did well. Maybe something has changed over the years.

I can 'Hunt' anyone's product if they like. It may help get it further along. I'm a full member (def not a super member, but I can post.) I'm not sure what is needed to get out of the parked area. I did not know that happened.
Not very active on there these days. For products already 'Hunted', you can only repost after a major update/change.

You may want to change the logo image. It isn't really doing you any favors. Most of the top voted products have some sort of eye-catching logo gif that instantly separates their product from the rest. Looking forward to catching up with you at the summit, Jason!

So its 9pm my time and I do want to thank everyone who up voted.

At this time, I ended up with 35 up votes. Way more than enough to land me on the front page ( though near the bottom ). But here is where things get tricky and will more than likely be my last pass on ProductHunt.

For most of the day, I have more up votes than those on the front page but I am not getting listed. So I am missing a lot of exposure. Maybe it has to do with the maker hunting the product, maybe its the icon I used ( I did do a bad job at this ). But still something seems odd.

Here is my product with 35 up votes



Here is the bottom of the front page where other products have less votes than mine, even though mine had more the whole day ( I kept watching it ).


Last few times I did this, I got good results. That was years ago though. Maybe things have changed?

Again, thanks to everyone who helped. Hopefully this can be a lesson to others though to test someone other than the maker hunting it, or doing the icon differently.

I ended up with 44 votes, still not on the first page even though I have more than others there now.

I guess ProductHunt will be marked off my checklist of promotional tasks.
