Fellow Fastlaners,

Wondering if there are people on this forum who are into AdSense Arbitrage?

I myself have been doing it for about a year.

I experienced everything from $$,$$$/month profits to AdSense Accounts being banned.

What are the best practices?

What works?

What doesn't work?

Do you see a future in this business model?

Well there are 3 basic parts to AdSense Arbitrage:
  1. Traffic
  2. Content
  3. Monetization
Traffic
For traffic it used to be that you could use organic/free traffic by building up strong SEO/Social Media presence. You still do that but your earnings will $ or $$ a month at best.

Nowadays, you have to pay for your traffic and so this eliminates 60% who are in the internet marketing.

The typical sources are:
1. Facebook
2. Taboola
3. Outbrain

Content
Your content basically consists of paginated posts. Used to be that you could have only 3 Ads per slide. AdSense has lifted that limit. I've seen legitimate sites have as much as 6 ads per slide.

Monetization
Arbitrage! So basically you buy low, and sell high. You can't really control how much you sell your traffic for. AdSense determines that based on the quality of you traffic and advertisers that are bidding on your traffic.

However, you can control how low you buy. The key here is to have low cost + quality. So typically you target people from 1st World Countries who buy stuff.

What Gets You Banned Official Reasons
There are general 2 reason why AdSense bans you:
  1. Invalid Activity
  2. Policy Violations
To me, this is just a bunch of mambo jumbo since to AdSense these are simply Umbrella terms for 1 on possible 1000s reasons for banning. In reality, you don't know why you were banned. The feedback mechanism with their Contact Support is nonexistent so you are operating in the dark.

What Gets You Banned In Reality
This is only my opinion only. You will get banned if you expand too quickly. If you create a site today and start sending $$,$$$ worth of traffic tommorow on the site chances are you will get banned. In the eyes of Google new sites have not been time tested to offer value to visitors.

Expanding too quickly. You can start send paid traffic right away but you have to pace yourself. I would not exceed $$$/month in the first couple of months.

I still see a few ads on Google sending folks to meta search engines where they monetise with Adsense. There’s a lot less of them now that the side Ads have disappeared and the top ads are so much bigger.

There are still alot of guys doing arbitrage. Either with clickbaity content or search ads (e.g. ask.com).
I've personally worked with a company that does 7-figures a month driving cold traffic to clickbait articles. It basically all boils down to great content, high CTR ads (but still compliant!) as well as good relationships with ad networks.

Funnily enough, we found that bad content worked better for us. People were more inclined to click the ads.

Yup, rather meant that it should entice to have them view more than 3 pages. But definitely the less sophisticated the better hehe

Just always a juggling act to stay compliant/within policies while running on sources like FB.

AdSense arbitrage (traffic arbitrage) means getting traffic using paid means (coming up) and converting that traffic into paid clicks by running AdSense ads.

In simple language this is how AdSense arbitrage works: You, the publisher with intent to make good ROI -(i) invest X amount to derive traffic for your website; (ii) have AdSense ads placed on that very website/web page; (iii) compel visitors to click those ads to earn via AdSense. Here, the catch is to earn higher revenue through AdSense ads than the initial expense made on buying the website traffic.
It is known that there are two ways to bring traffic to a website: organic and paid. In the case of AdSense arbitrage, where the intent is to make quick money, the usual way to get started is buying paid traffic, which is relatively quick and effortless than organic. Since here we’re talking how to buy website traffic, here are some sources that can help you get traffic for AdSense arbitrage:
  • From Facebook
Facebook is one of the top choices when the aim is to buy quality traffic for a website. Of course, quality is a byproduct of the right audience targeting. Facebook ads can help generate traffic with a decent CPC if you, the buyer, can achieve decent CTRs on those ads. Since almost 75% of the traffic that Facebook gets comes from mobile devices, it’s a good idea to target/prioritise mobile traffic over the desktop. So, if you consider Facebook mobile ads to get traffic, make sure your website is mobile optimized and monetized.
  • From Taboola
If you understand the power of content (like blog, ebooks, real-life case studies) to get traffic, you may agree it can be a goldmine. Hence, Native advertising platforms like Taboola can help you dig the goldmine if you’re planning for AdSense arbitrage. The platform lets you roll out your content to the audience who you know can fetch you some decent ad clicks, and then eventually some traffic to your AdSense ad web page.
  • From Revcontent
RevContent can also help you get traffic with the help of your content. First of all, what’s great about RevContent is: It picks up really fast, offers more control over content promotion actions, location and device-based targeting, and has credible partnerships. Furthermore, RevContent also allows you to make revenue alongside AdSense via its own ad widgets.

These above-mentioned channels are popular choices for arbitrage. They help you achieve the first and most crucial step; which is bringing in quality traffic to your website/web page. But some other options available are Yahoo Gemini, Bing ads, Quora, AdWords and many others.

AdSense arbitrage can be a great way to make money online, but it is a bit of a hard job and it’s definitely not for everyone, especially if you don’t have a few hundred dollars that you can afford to lose. It is certainly way harder than affiliate marketing in my opinion, simply because of the risks involved, both financially and with getting your AdSense account suspended.

You can refer to articles “AdSense Arbitrage: What Works & What Doesn’t + 4 Facts For Publishers” written by Richa Agarwal and “AdSense Arbitrage: What It Is And How To Earn Money Doing It in 2020” written by Stephen Montagne for more detailed and latest information. The articles are very well explained with real-time examples.

Can you expand on this?
Someone searches for “hotels dublin” on Google and clicks an arbitrageur’s ad.

They get sent to a meta search engine listing organic results pulled back from various search engines, with Google Adsense ads above and below those listings.

If the organic listings aren’t that relevant or attractive then the visitor will be more likely to click on the ads.

Oh ok, I thought you meant lower quality ads were getting more clicks. Google has been pushing the lower quality organic results for a while now.
