Typically a red flag goes up when a person/business has "playboy" in their name, but Efficiency by The Wall Street Playboys was recommended alongside TMF . Has anyone in here read it? I've done a little research, and it seems to have pretty positive reviews.

Yes, I read it. It is good, but UNSCRIPTED is better. Worth a read though.

Great no nonsense book. Covers the spectrum of success in the big areas in life (business, career, social, health). Sure their brand is a little shady, but you’ll quickly realize they’re speaking from experience. Would recommend since there’s a lot of good takeaways. I might be biased though since I’m essentially on the ‘path’ they recommend

I love wall street playboys. I started reading from that website a couple months before I found this place. The website has a lot of funny, entertaining, as well as blunt honest content but I am skeptical about some of his claims about careers.

It's a lot easier said than done to make 6 figures in banking or technology and become a millionaire by 30 while living in NYC or SF. Maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't sound as realistic as he makes it out to be.

I'm currently following their career path guide.

I've met others who have followed their advice on careers and are doing pretty well for themselves. I think it ties in nicely with the lessons taught by DeMarco about learning a valuable transferable skill on the job. I guess that with all the money you make from your career, you'll have enough to subsidise your business development when the time comes.

Commenting on this because it is the most recent post about WallStreetPlayboys and I'm reading Efficiency right now.

It aligns perfectly with Fastlane mentality with it's own spin at times.

The amount of value in Efficiency is insane.

I have read it and suggest it aswell. Great comprehensive overview of various areas in life. I see a lot of similarities with fastlane concepts. They go pretty extreme with efficiency in every aspect but it opens your eyes where you could potentially save your time to focus on the important stuff.

I love this book. This book lays out a complete optimized life plan - from entering college to making it big and how to protect your wealth after making it.

I am personally following majority of the advice given in the book right now - optimizing health, making the most out of your time, wealth generating strategies, and overall mindset.

Definitely a must read for fastlaners!

Have read most of it, definitely a good read. I love the content on their blog, I always check in on their latest posts. A lot of no nonsense, blunt advice, which is is typically the type of advice I respond best to.

I skimmed through the books very quickly.

It tries to combine a lot of personal improvement ideas into one package.

Health is important. Don't waste time on the negatives and social media crap. Be productive and have balance....

But I just think that certain ideas seem to contradict each other.

1) A job is inferior to career but is inferior to a business. But the problem is career is much more energy sapping and time consuming. Good luck trying to develop business skill while being an investment banker working 80 hours a week. If the ultimate goal is to start a business why bother with perfect GPA advice in the section on school? The writer seems to logically argue the case for business but also struggles to wriggle out from the middle class aspiration.

2) M&A banker is just a job these days. There is no such thing as career in private sector.

3) The writer talks about balance but the timetable looks like a rigid chore. You need to be a workaholic to complete all the task to have a “balanced life”. Well there is nothing wrong with being obsessed according to my value but it just doesn't rhyme with the theme of being “efficiently balanced”. Maybe he should position it as a book as “how to work hard to have everything in your life and not just money”. Imagine a person working a 70 hours job 6 figures , meanwhile picking up business skill on his own and spent two nights every week socializing (as recommended) and he will be more balanced and living a less stressful life (as recommended). You kidding me? It seems like a recipe to collapse during office. And I am saying this as a person who has fairly decent work ethic,

4) It is too detailed and regimented when it comes to how many hours of time to be allocated. It is unlikely to be implemented on another person well.

Overall i think it is a good book that gives mature advice. It is as if a 40 year old man telling a 20 year old how to plan for the next phase of his life.

Surely everyone who reads it will find small points that they agree and disagree.

I am going to pick out some minor points (over generalizations) that I disagree.

A lot of the planning are based on “modeling”. Since both the author and I came from finance background I smell it immediately. There is common sense that you should work harder for money when you are younger because you have less money. The author even prescribe SPECIFIC HOURS a week on how much time you should spend on money. My question is if you are going to be that specific how can you leave out the white elephant in the room. A lot of people in New York, Singapore, London and Hong kong have rich Parents that will get them to start at different starting points. Their kids are capable and they are not rich bums. Basically the author has committed the son of giving financial advice without checking how much money his client has in the bank account.

The author also claimed that one can spend less attention on health in the 20s. I am not sure about that. Basically a lot people are developing high blood pressure and high cholesterol really early.

Some sales tactics I will also disagree since I am in sales too. “People buy emotion not logic”. This is not true despite many people claiming so. Logic is the bullshit filter. If it doesn't make sense the person will not buy. Emotion decides when the person will buy. Today is not a good time because the client just quarreled with his wife yesterday over a meal. In today’s world the client has decided that whether today is a good day to buy before the salesman has called him. Any sales person thinks he has the magic word to stir some emotion is seriously delusional.

The writer claims that international girls are better entirely due to American guys having better purchasing power, and girls everywhere is the same. Of course money matters a lot but there is also cultural difference across world and some people might genuinely like foreign cultures and therefore like foreign girls.

Just to name some obvious socio-cultural difference.
-Compared to western girls, Eastern European and East Asian girls might demand men to assume more traditional roles and pay for the dates, even in cities with high living standards and the girls themselves have well paid jobs

-One average there are less proportion of dramatic girls outside the anglo sphere. Hollywood culture has an effect of hyper-stimulation. There is higher standard for guys in English speaking culture to have “interesting personality” that is not that required elsewhere. Easy access to fast-food also cause anglo sphere girls to be slightly bigger.

I am not saying one set of cultural norm or expectation is necessarily better. But the author seems to be naive to assume international girls are basically American girls with different purchasing power.

Hmm .. so I bought this and I am very put off by the language. This seems like it was written by someone that does not master the English language and it seems so frenzied I'm pretty sure the authors were on cocaine while writing this

your location says belgium that's probably why.

I didn't notice the wording to be any different than any other book written by an American author to be honest.

Serious question though. Who is writing the content? They've done quite a good job concealing their identity(s). Red flag number 1.

I know the original guy through more than one person. He is legit.

I’ve said too much already ha.

WSP has said they intentionally use poor grammar and language, at least in their tweets/blog.

The book was a $10 download. I think it was worth it, but they are very centered on monetary wealth gains and "getting ahead" of peers. As if it really matters if you are worth 3 million or 10 million at age 50.

Most of the content is pretty good though.

Yes, they are right in pretty much every area

There are times when I find myself annoyed at their dystopic-like writing when discussing the future. Plus the constant use of "regulars" in referring to 'the bottom feeders of the world' is nauseating.

However that's part of how they've formed their worldview which many have benefitted from, so certainly can't complain.
