When I was reading TMF and UNSCRIPTED , I distilled the essence of entrepreneurial business as providing solutions to problems and so I took that basic concept to create a frankly mundane idea called ProblemSolved: an online messageboard that facilitates the resolutions of problems through incentivization (monetary) and established problemsolving techniques.

I did a little more research and realize the idea wasn't that visionary but it had a place in the market (Google Answers, UClue, Fenda, & Whale just to name a few). I've done some initial surveys and received positive feedback from potential customers.

I'm eager for more feedback though. If you can spare 5 minutes, please take this SURVEY. And/or leave your thoughts below. Looking to forward to your thoughts!

Just one quick question. How do you make sure a quality answer or solution is provided? Expectations will be much higher if you need to pay.

To do that, I have two primary ideas:
1) equip problemsolver with established problemsolving techniques used by big companies, consulting firms, psychologists, scientists, inventors, and artists; problemsolving has a methodology and can be standardized for quality; problemsolvers would have a "toolbox" of these techniques
2) try to attract the most capable, knowledgeable, intelligent problemsolvers (this is not as foolproof as #1)
When a person posts a problem, problemsolvers compete for compensation by posting solutions to problem. "Problemhaver" ranks the solutions. Top ranked gets compensated.
Also a person who has a problem will only compensate if problem is satisfactory

Can you elaborate on these problemsolving techniques?

I don't doubt there are problemsolving techniques that can help, but the most difficult problems will likely require specialized knowledge. How do you plan on getting knowledgeable experts onto your platform?

And the "problemhaver" only pays when they receive a "satisfactory" answer? I can imagine there are a lot of dishonest people who will read the answers without paying, regardless of if they are truly satisfactory or not.

Would this be like Quora, except you pay to post a question (in hope for more knowledgeable answers), and the top ranked answer receives a portion of that payment?

Yes, I do agree with you- specialized knowledge and knowledgeable experts will be integral. I've been thinking on how to attract problemsolvers specifically and the best thing I can think of is to publicize the platform on existing knowledge sharing platforms (forums, blogs, etc), channeling the people who answer from those sites. Do you have any suggestions?

And there are many techniques- too many to list; here is a wikipedia page with more info.

In regards to problemhavers, this is a possibility, however, they would acquire a bad "reputation" that would be visible on their profile. Also, I was thinking maybe a non-refundable deposit but I want to ensure customers expactations are met and if not, there will be no loss on their part. Do you have any recommendations?

Yes, it would have elements of Quora and other Q&A sites.
