I just finished Unscripted !

MJ: thank you for chapter 47. Though I’m not UNSCRIPTED yet, I related to “The Idea Entreprenuer” and it’s given me a little kick in the a$$ to improve my execution.

Thanks for another awesome read.

I read Unscripted about 2 months ago. Absolutely loved it.

And on October 1st I go to 20 hours a week in my job at an accounting firm so I can focus on growing my new business ghostand.co.

I wouldn't have pulled the trigger on reducing my hours if I hadn't read this book!

I have read UNSCRIPTED as soon as I devoured TMF and finished it a week ago.

Both books are genius and I thought that reading UNSCRIPTED really helped to repeat the concepts and make them stick.

I will probably buy both audiobooks as well to consume them whenever I am traveling and have time to kill.

I can't express how pumped I feel after reading those books I would categorize as breakthrough knowledge because they are just not like any run-of-the-mill BS books spreading conventional wisdom you heard a thousand times before and is misleading.

I read UNSCRIPTED . I liked TMF better but UNSCRIPTED was nice also. Sometimes it's a little bit hard to swallow that you've dedicated so much time to slowlane stuff (and, in my case, "have" to dedicate again - don't really want to throw up 10 years of studying for 2 "small" remaining years). But of course it's a mind opening book. I was so happy to know there was another way, because I was so depressed after reading so much slowlane books (Money from T. Robins, particularly). Thank you.

@MJ DeMarco I mentioned this in my intro post, but had a technology fail trying to tag you, so I'm not sure if you saw it. Kinokuniya Books in Bangkok, of all places. That's where I bought Unscripted . The other 7 copies so far I've bought from Audible and Amazon (US). Read it and listened to it. Thank you :)

I've read UNSCRIPTED . First on kindle, later a bought the phyiscal book. Before UNSCRIPTED , I read more or less everything of Seth Godin and Chris Guillebeau - and some other stuff like Slow Growth and the Leadership Secrets of Attila the Hun. MJ DeMarco is by far the most inspiring of them. Even more inspiring than Attila the Hun!

Thank you MJ and my friend who gifted them too

Thank you!

It was deeper and more serious than the first book.

I tried!

Recommended it to three people who also Loved it!

Thank you for the recommendations!

It will sit among the classics and is the guiding light for the lost souls.

I hope so!

While I've read a few books about entrepreneurship and self-improvement, none had much of an impact before “The millionaire fastlane ” and “Unscripted ”.

MJ DeMarco's books are different: they are raw, honest, thought-provoking, and they speak right to the guts. They have helped me fuel my inner fire, have propelled me into taking massive action and provide constant inspiration.

Yah!

MJ, you’ve nailed it again!

Thank you!

Wish I’d had it available 20years ago.

I wish I had it 30 years ago!

As part of the strategy of curtailing consumption I have done this myself before (whilst listening to audiobooks on business), but now I am thinking should I pay the money and do something else with the time (is this more in line with fastlane thinking).

You should do what you enjoy and not get too neurotic about it.

Also, what do you feel about active stock trading, not passive index fund/mutual fund investing, but researching fundamentals and then taking a position on particular stocks/ other assets eg. commodities. Takes time and risks capital, but its possible to earn more than trading time for money.

2Es beat 1E ... executional excellence beats entry.

This is so much better than The Millionaire Fastlane , which is saying a lot because that book is already awesome. I'm glad MJ provided a thorough explanation of the Commandment of Scale: the Law of Effection from TMF lit my event-driven mind with crazy ideas.

Thank you, I think Unscripted is light years better than TMF .

Saved it to share with my kids

Thank you, means a lot to me!

Kinokuniya Books in Bangkok, of all places. That's where I bought Unscripted .

That's odd. I'm not distributing to that area, wonder how they're getting out there.

Wow!! Simply explosive, I dove straight into unscripted from TMF , at first I thought it was some conspiracy theory book and thought @MJ DeMarco was really a raving lunatic, what script is he talking about? But the more I read the more it made sense, Now I'm an aspiring raving lunatic. Thanks @MJ DeMarco. I still owe you though.

@MJ DeMarco In the spirit of thoroughness, I took photos of the label and imprint. I had assumed it was a licensing deal, but I notice that they are actually selling the US printing in Thailand. It appears to be the actual book - cover and paper are identical to my Amazon copies.

Maybe they buy them ship them over? The store has a lot of books for expats. I did pay around $26 for the book (in baht), which is slightly more than the normal retail.

Both of your books were shelved cover-out, like a featured book, at the Kinokuniya at Siam Paragon.

I read it.
I'm recommending this book to everyone I meet in private!
** I read unscripted first, but I don't think order is very important. Because I will read this book again and again.

I've read the book and learned a ton. Awesome resource. Should be required reading for anyone that wants to get out of the slow lane.

Just finished reading it, amazing book! Lots of great stuff to take away from it, but I did find it was really similar to TMF...tough still great and very insightful. Will definitely reread it in the coming weeks to go over the main points.

Copying my post from "I've Read TMFL!":

Recently started lurking here after reading TMFL and UNSCRIPTED . I wanted to see what all the hype was about. The amount of content that is available for free is truly mind-blowing. It's really refreshing to see success (and failure) stories.

Thanks for having this vision MJ. While we are the vocal minority, there is the silent majority that has undoubtedly gleaned large amounts of value from your business philosophy.

Need something like a week for the thoughts to run free, then will probably read again, taking notes this time. I think this one is even better than the first one, in terms of entrepreneur's guide - less compromising, more insightful. Loved it!

Read it.

In my introduction thread I wrote that one aspect in The Millionaire Fastlane did not vibe quite right with me.
I felt that - in the home stretch - legit issues that people have were too easily dismissed as excuses, even though the book had not sufficiently made a case for that evaluation.

I wondered if UNSCRIPTED was going to be just a rehash of TMF plus a few forum anecdotes.
What I did not expect was that the book would actually have a "look, ... about those excuses that I dismissed earlier ..." part. But it does. And that part has a lot of substance.

Then, the original big picture concepts and the little distinctions that are introduced are all awesome additions to the ones of TMF.
I am glad I did not postpone reading the book. I have made several very concrete adjustments to my strategy and my immediate plans.

Favorite quote:

Remember, there is no freaking list, no paint-by-numbers plan, and no fairy god-mentor.

It's 10 days later and I'm done with #UNSCRIPTED : )

I was on a productivity/business books binge this summer with TMF and UNSCRIPTED being the last two books on the list. Now I think I'll have to press pause on these topics until my brain processes the all the information MJ served and I adjust my life and my business. It really felt like a huge sum up of everything I've learned before plus tons of new info, followed by an execution plan.

Thank you once again! The blindfold is definitely off.
