Hi Everyone,
Recently I started a dog walking business in my city in Canada. I am only just turned 17 years old and am on my summer break before my last year of high school. I got a government grant for $1500 to spend on the business so far and have spent $200 on Facebook ads, securing 10 leads and 2 that responded back and arranged to meetup. My value skew is that the first 30 minute walk is completely free of charge. I also spent $220 on door hangers to order 1500 and received 3000 instead. Along with that I also bought a $740 camera for the business to film content of clients and for marketing for the business. The rest of the money is to transportation expenses and Shopify monthly fee. I have skills with shopify so I integrated the packages as items on there. in the past 3 days 1 got a new client from the 500 door hangers I put out so far and also one from Facebook ads. The one client after the free walk paid in advance and booked 3-30 minute walks and 3-60 minute walks packages for $140. They said that they will book the next ones in the coming week so they are here to stay. These were bundle packages. The other client booked 5 60 minute walks for $130 I gave him $20 off and he will book next week too. The one guy paid cash and the other paid through my website.
My rates are the following:
30 minutes- $18 CAD
60 minutes-$30 CAD
3-30 Minute Walks-$49 CAD
3-60 Minute Walks-$82 CAD
Today I am meeting up with another potential client who only lives 5 minutes away from my house.
So far currently just off of signing 2 people in the next 2 weeks I will make
$420 CAD with a $20 tip included from one of the free walks
My next plans are to get the clients to sign a agreement paper so I can take photos of their dogs and videos to posts to my website and social media pages. I will also start putting up the rest of the 2000 door hangers. Right now I use simply analytics to research key areas for my target market to put up the door hangers.
I am really excited for the future for this summer business and want to keep riding this recent momentum and keep signing and building trusts with my clients. My summer break last from July to Sept.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me so far on what to do in the future for this to keep scaling and keep getting clients?
