I wish I had a large twitter following so I could shit on Shopifys UI designers and have someone listen

I want to fly to their offices and punch them in their stupid over paid wfh diversity hire heads

Why the F*ck are they making the back end of Shopify harder to use, more confusing, and take more clicks to do anything

These are tools millions of people use daily, they need to work and be usable, they don’t need to be pretty

Stop moving shit for the sake of it

Does my F*cking head in how retarded can you be to not think about how something might be used and your entire job is UI design

Thanks for coming to my ted talk
Do it on LinkedIn. While you're at it, can you please include Google in your rant. The interface is different from one region to the next, and even between different clients in the same region. Like wtf?!? Trying to navigate the interface is like playing whack-a-mole.

Google was included in the rant originally actually :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Just another hypocrite pushing a socialist/woke agenda through WAPO and then moves to Florida to avoid taxes.

What a dickhead.

What not live with the policies you promote Jeff, huh?

AI made this for me in about a minute based on my text prompt. Reminds me of Dall-E before it was good enough to use (which wasnt long ago)

Look at the demos here:

That's just F*cking nuts!

Not long ago I was thinking that I would love to create my own animated movie but it was impossible to do it without a huge team and millions of dollars. Once this gets ready, I'd be able to do everything myself (write a script, turn it into animated scenes, get an AI voiceover).

Note the phrasing too "If you lower taxes, they will come" - I get that it is a joke but this is another leftist catechism - that anywhere not taxing their citizens/businesses to death is a dirty "tax haven" being sketchy. While FL eliminates some taxes its not that the ones that attracted him were "lowered" - they never existed! No gimmicks needed.

Haven't touched wordpress in a decade - all I can say is my first taste of a purchased theme based on elementor and elementor itself is that it is hot garbage (strong bias here as a dev). Wiping the entire site after a few frustrating days and moving on to bricks now.

Try Kadence and your life will never be the same.

Elementor is terrible indeed.

What does Kadence do better?

Looks way nicer, more intuitive, extremely customizable, fast, much better drag & drop experience. Elementor feels like software from the 90s compared to Kadence.

Give it another few years, and then you won't even need to do any of that yourself.

Just put your AI Content Manager in charge, and it'll coordinate all of that for you.

Barriers to entry getting lower and lower. We are going to have to dig deeper to find moats for our businesses.

What does Kadence do better?
Kadence keeps everything inside the theme & Gutenberg, making it super fast and simple to change/edit.

I worked on several Wordpress builds which used it last year - Welcome To County Clare | County Clare, Ireland and Luxury Irish Designed Products | John Hanly & Co.

I also built a Kadence child theme which integrates deep into the theme, allowing for things such as adding custom "dynamic content" options and various other things: GitHub - flutils/pcfixes-kadence-child: PCFixes.com Kadence Wordpress Child Theme

The child theme is not documented yet but it basically integrates Redux Framework into the backend, into which I am able to add different inputs, which can then hook into Kadence via various hooks/filters: -

If you wanted to use it, you're welcome to let me know and I'll explain how it works - it significantly improves the backend extensibility of basic Kadence.

Why is Elementor terrible? I’ve never found something as fast when it comes to making changes/new pages quickly.

Kadence is just faster. And whatever I want to customize or fix, even as a non-technical person, I can always figure it out quickly.

I remember Elementor as very clunky and annoying. I hated their slow drag and drop experience. There were a lot of things I had no idea how to change.

Time to pack my lunch and make iced coffee at home. Graham Stephen style haha.

The bluntness. Lol.

Can I say how much I love Costco?

It is my favorite store especially since my wife and I have to buy a ton of veggies and it makes buying them easier.

But they are also great for bigger purchases.

For example, our washer kicked the bucket 3 days ago and I went to Home Depot to buy one. After I found and bought it, Home Depot tacked on all types of fees, $50 removal $30 delivery, a 48 hour return window, a bunch of BS. By the time I left, it was $2290.

When I got home, I saw the same make/model washer at Costco for only $1899. Plus, because I am an executive member I get an additional 4% rebate on the price, and they don't tack on haul away or deliver fees, it was several hundred dollars cheaper.

Additionally, their return policy is phenomenal (not this Home Depot 48 hour BS) and they double the warranty.

Next, the machine I purchased at HD was also part of a Costco promotion if you buy two things.

No brainer!!!

So ultimately, I cancelled the Home Depot washer and got a refund.

Turned around and bought it at Costco and for an extra $40, got a new 65" 4K HDTV on top of it.

Then every year, I get about a $900 in gift certificates from Costco simply because a use the right credit card.

All because I shop at Costco for fruits and veggies and make an occasional big purchase.

I don’t know if Lidl exists in the USA but in the UK it is elite. 50% the cost of other supermarkets but same quality in reality.

Can I say how much I love Costco?
My favorite thing about Costco: their inventory is targeted based on the primary demographic that shops there. Must be a logistical nightmare to accomplish this at scale.

I also like supporting them because they seem to give a damn about the well-being of their employees as opposed to only caring about maximizing shareholder value.

Long live Costco and the $1.50 hot dog.

a 48 hour return window
That bullshit would never fly in the EU. Consumesrs have a right of withdrawal from their purchase within 14 days of the purchase. Retailers are required to provide this information to their customers. And the best part is that failure to do this expands that right from 14 days to one year.

Jim Sinegal seems like a cool guy:

From the article:

According to an article from 2018, Jelinek threw out the idea of raising the price of the iconic combo, and drew a rather strongly worded response from Sinegal. “If you raise the [price of the] effing hot dog, I will kill you. Figure it out,” is what Jelinek recalled Sinegal saying.

I'm definitely opening myself on getting roasted, but I've done overemployment for 3 years and it finally happened that I lost all my jobs from back to back layoffs. In the end, a job is still a job and you're still putting faith in a system that could axe you at any given moment.

I don't regret it, I've definitely learned a lot, but I knew I couldn't keep up with it for the rest of my life. In the end, having something that you can control is the way to go.

Gee, another superhero movie flop.

Maybe Hollywood will realize there's only so many times we can watch men/women in tights dodge bullets while executing fight scenes in mid-air.

So I guess this explains the portraits of supermodel Jesus on sale?
